I mean god forbid for a potential customer to ask them if the product that Media Blasters announced for release or in many cases attached an actual release date to is coming or not. I've never read such rude public relations with a customer base. Honestly how dare they want to buy their product!

Thanks to them some really great Anime and Asian cinema has missed its chance for release in English thanks to them being totally inept. You could argue that if they hadn't tried then maybe it wouldn't have ever got an English release. But in most cases i don't think that's true. What i do think is true is they have damaged those shows chances more than they were before.

Take Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei. This will unlikely ever get a release and furthermore even if it eventually does by Discotek or something, it could be some 10-15yrs after it probably coulda been if it weren't for MB.

Thankfully at least, being from the UK I can look forward to Bakuman getting released.
I definitely agree with your third paragraph in light of Bakuman. I think multiple other studios would have been willing to give it a try, it's a fairly popular US manga release and it has the benefit of being a Shonen Jump title.

EDIT: nevermind

Definitely another sign that MB is in huge trouble. I was afraid they would say something like this.
Yeah, it really looks like it... There is just too many signs...

They've been like this for years. As long as I can remember. And it seems they're actually going to release Ika Mususme season 2 now (although it may take years for that to actually happen...). It's possible MB will finally implode like Bandai, but until they say so, I'm just going to assume they'll continue to exist in this miserable state for the next decade.

Will see I guess, a good sign would be Ika Mususme season 2 Blu-ray, not DVD only.

- Why hold the licensing rights to a title (Bakuman) if you keep pushing it back, and then say you don't plan to do anything with it?

- I believe it will go to Viz. We wanted to release it but the sales were not there.

"Believe it would go to Viz" + "The sales were not there" = Viz will drop it after _____ volume(s).

Better than nothing. I hope. Come on Viz, snatch it up and finish that dub. Oh, and actually release it!

TRSI has now removed the Vol.2 DVD listing. It had been stuck at Coming Soon, Date to be Determined.
