Watched it yesterday. Thrilled that the Manga dub was included over the one released by Media Blasters. Completely made buying the set even more worth it.

Still waiting on the Siege at Babel... :D

Exclamation Re: [JP] Giant Robo BD-Box [EngDub]

Yay \0/ my set arrived today. Can't wait to watch it.

Quick 'dumb' question since this the first BD that I've imported new from AmazonJP:

Do new BD sets, or at least the GR one, from JP ship in resealable mylar sleeves? I've searched on blogs of other GR fans on release day, and many pics show this same packaging. But no one mentions this 'feature' but I can only assume that they are new retail sets...

The deputy service cannot seem to answer this question, so any info from other GR BD owners would be greatly appreciated. ^_^

BD sets, or even singles w/external bonus item, usually come in a resealable bag. It seems to be pretty standard, although not universal.

Thanks for the insight. I'm not complaining about the resealable sleeve, in fact, it saves me having to buy a possible 2nd one to keep sealed. But, as much as this set costs, when you buy it new, you want it new. I'm fairly confident that it's new.

After re-reading this thread, figured I'd share my count for the number of times I've purchased this series:

JP LD (including GinRei Specials)
US LD
US VHS - counts a 2 times (dubbed and subbed)
JP Giga DVD set
Korean 'Giga' DVD set
JP Re-Mastered DVDs (4 DVD + GinRei Special)
US DVD Economy Box set (as well Eye LE box) (2006)
US DVD Lite/Slim box set (2009)
JP Custom Composite Box
JP Blu Ray

Evilgordo, I have the Alberto model in your pic. Alas, he remains unpainted (along with the other seven figures from that model set). Someday I'll get around to it.

I will just note this here (and it mentioned Berserk of which it's known that they don't have it anymore)...

- I know it just came out in Japan but any chance of you guys releasing the new 4K transfer of the Giant Robo OVAs on Blu-ray in the near future?

How about Berserk TV on Blu-ray too? That's been out in Japan for a while now.

- No on both. You can ask Viz about Berserk TV on Blu Ray.

The R1/2 sets had that video (Part 1, Part 2) with them recording tracks for episode seven. What cues do the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra perform for episodes one to six? I'm mainly interested in those extras (They'll also be included on the upcoming Korean BD release :'D).
