Wow, fuck Warner so hard. Mail-in episodes? This is nearly enough to just make me skip importing the show completely. There's going to be no reasonable/affordable way to get this from overseas.

Yes I can and will just download a BD rip, but double and triple fuck these guys anyway. Looks like import odds for Sukinayo and Kaibutsu-kun just got a major increase.
As soon as I read the news I had the exact same feeling. If I'm going to spend god knows how much on this possibly four cour in total series if the hints are to believed then I'd like to own it all.

Though importing it is not completely out of the question yet, I'd just really like to own it all and this kinda bothers me. Just like the mail-in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei episode.

Keep in mind that Warner also released BD-Boxes of two of their shows 10 months after the final release. They could do the same here and perhaps include that episode in their box.

That would be an option, though I wonder how the second season/ova/whatever they have planned beyond episode 26 will change the schedule.

Unless this single episode is their "We know we need more than 26 eps so there will be more". This would certainly not be what people expected from that. I'm still guessing they mean a second season, though if its preorder ranking keeps plummeting I don't know how they'll finance a sequel.

That said, the first volume has jumped about 170 places on Amazon in the past few hours.

This is exactly how I feel... The chances that I import only two shows this season just increased... (it feels really weird to use the word "only" in the second sentence...)

Well, this may be a possibility.

Barring finding a kind soul in Japan among our ranks, the proxy I know that will handle these charges a 4,000 yen fee (not including whatever costs are associated with the mail-in offer, the international shipping, plus a 5% PayPal exchange fee). So your total cost to get this bonus disc will probably be somewhere in the ~8,000 yen range worst case scenario (which is basically a little more than the price of an additional volume release).

Which is a lot, taking in consideration, that there is already 9 volumes at 8190 yen each (except the last one). Taking also in consideration, that this series up to now (what I watched + what I heard for after episode 2) is not outstanding. The extra episode may also be on a future boxset. Also, if they do a second season, will they do the Mail-in episode again?

So taking all that in consideration, I end up deciding to wait for an eventual boxset for this one (if I like the series enough). After that, I asked to myself: Hey, you will buy the boxset of Oreimo in February, since you won't buy the singles for Little Busters!, why not instead of the boxset, buying the singles of Oreimo? I prefer giving more of my money to Oreimo. So, I just placed an order of all 8 singles of Oreimo on Amazon. And yeah, all the extras I have with the singles that I wouldn't have with the boxset.

Why would you spend 46k + shipping and all that when the box set is out in three months for 21k!?

Either way, if anyone is actually buying all the LB! singles and want their mail-in thing, I can probably hook that up. The fee would go under my own order so it wouldn't make a difference to anyone. All you have to do is pay shipping from Japan to wherever. Offer is up for maximum two people so whoever is first.

LB! was a letdown for me, Girls und Panzer and Chuunibyou will be my Fall imports.

Well, for me there is a couple reasons. Some of them are that if you buy the singles, you have the extra (I just bought the Oreimo singles on Amazon to have the extras over waiting in February for a complete box). Another one, is by buying the singles you give more money to help the industry. That's another reason I bought the Oreimo singles over waiting for the complete box. Another one would be that I'm not patient. I would wait for complete box for series I don't like enough to get on singles.
