Well, my first choice would have been Lucky Star, but since it was from Bandai it is out of print, and they never did finish it. Right Stuf has volumes 5, 6, 7, and 8, which is where Bandai stopped. The first four volumes might be rather hard to find.
I think that there is still some hope that Yen will rescue this.

Another that I would recommend is Suzunari. It is only two volumes and Right Stuf has them both in stock.

I also like Tori Koro and Cosplay Koromo-chan but they have been out of print for a long time.

As I said before, the 1-page manga is often regarded as a relative to 4-koma manga. So, it is possible that at a place where people talk about 4-koma manga they also talk about the 1-page manga.

Like Damius and touma said, I, too, would suggest GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class and Tricolo (Tori Koro).
Hǎilán, the author of Tricolo, was once called a 'Monster of 4-koma', but unfortunately now his manga are on hiatus and he remains silent.
I would also suggest Kyōkan Astro (S.S. Astro).
Sadly, Kyōkan Astro, too, is on hiatus now.

I actually recognize these characters.

Granted it's just from Hidamari crossover fanart, but still.

Anyways, first episode was pretty nice. Though should I expect the usual 4koma to anime treatment where the anime expands on the characters and overall has more than the source material it's based off of or no?

Also is the OOP volume mainly due to the same problem Sunshine Sketch vol 4 had?

I should've probably excluded that one too.

I'd like to get it, but unless Yen Press grabs it and gives it the Yotsuba&! treatment I don't want to.

Also regarding the rest of the recommendations from everyone, thanks. I'll check them out sometime later I hope.

I can not remember enough (big gap between the anime watching and the 4koma reading). Maybe someone else can answer you better than me.

I don't remember if it was mentioned anywhere... But, I guess it's a possibility.

I just post some pieces of news on the Fandom Post forum occasionally.
I'd like to show respect for your endeavour to maintain the 4-koma thread here. ^_^

Well, this place feels more like my home than Fandom Post, so I'll be sure to take care of it.
