Episode 5:

- Saori is excited by guns firing now too? She's definitely getting into it.
- Haha, the cakes come out on a truck.
- Awww those adorable cake tanks.
- Saori's voice is outrageously cute. Yay Kayano Ai.
- Uh oh it's [strike]Teru[/strike] Maho! And fuck yeah for Miho's friends sticking up for her. Mako got the best zinger in.

- A visit to Yukari's house. Her room looks about as you'd expect. Heh, I wouldn't put it past her for those rounds on her wall to be live...
- Haha knew Yukari would infiltrate Sanders. I love that she added a soundtrack to her video.
- Uh how is she filming herself? It doesn't look like she's holding the camera, and that would be very suspicious if she were.
- Bwhahaha, of course she outs herself. But hey, she was pretty successful, really.
- I love how the zettai ryouiki chick just thinks this is all hilarious.
- I was just about to ask if this kind of espionage was allowed, but the snow answers for me. Yes it is.
- Awww... you're a good girl, Yukari.

- Morning practice!
- Haha, Yukari is very intrigued by Miho's three sizes. And I almost missed Mako massaging Saori in the background. XD
- Oh hey they painted their tanks more normally. Good, they're more serious about this now.

- Oh wow I definitely love Kei. Everything is hilarious for her.
- Man, I know war isn't fair, but for a tournament like this it seems unbalanced for one school to have twice the number of tanks. I know 10 is a cap and it's up to each team to field as many as they can up to the cap, though.

- Go go Karina-chan! Adorable always-looking-spaced-out girl. But man, six on one for loli tank team.
- Nice job escaping the forest. But their communications are being intercepted.
- Oh, wow that was a much simpler solution than I was thinking. Just use your cell phones!

Soooooooo good. Now to wait two weeks for the rest of the fight. ;_;

It's great to see this show is still kicking ass in Amazon preorders. The first BD is currently the 8th highest ranked DVD/BD on Amazon Japan in any genre, second highest ranked in anime (behind only Gundam UC) and best ranked of the Fall season (not overall, but at the moment at least). It's been trading Fall leads with Chuunibyou for weeks now. None of the other shows this season have touched those two in some time.

Saw this on Crunchryoll. Pretty damn awesome. Very nice comparisons to the show, and it gives a great feel for Ooarai in general. And I think I'm really going to have to pick up the OP single.

Oh and Crunchyroll has 5.5 teed up for the usual time, so it looks like they'll be streaming it. I figured they would, but confirmation is good.

No love for 5.5? Okay yeah it's recap so there's not much to say, but it's GirlPan. I'm excited anyway!

Episode 5.5:

- Initial story premise recap. "HEY KANOJO!" God I love that. Then the initial confrontation with the eeeeeevil student council.
- Introductions! Takebe Saori. Isuzu Hana. Reizei Mako ("All good things come to those who wait", heh). Akiyama Yukari (favorite flower, dandilion. Wouldn't have guessed that.)
- The other teams. Student Council team is first. And heh, Yukari takes over when it's time to introduce the tanks.
- Next up, volleyball club team. Heh, I initially misread Shinobu's favorite flower as "Broccoli".
- After that, history otaku team. Haha, Caesar's favorite tank is Da Vinci's circular "tank". so their historical periods of choice are Roman (Caesar), European/WWII (Erwin), Japanese Sengoku (Saemonza), and Japanese Bakumatsu (Oryou).
- Lastly, the cute 1st years! Heh, the space cadet girl is introduced as a "good listener". I'm surprised she even knows what planet she's on let alone can follow a conversation.
- We relive Hana's first tank fire-induced orgasm.
- Fish dance!

And I love how the ED splits the screen into four to show all the teams (except the 1st years).

-OMG! Four times the tiny cute tanks!

Recap episode is meh. Cute but meh. Well unless you are a tank otaku.
