If I understand correctly international shipping is going to be over $20, 25 dollars? Unless I'm wrong, any info would be greatly appreciated.
A couple of months ago when I requested an exchange for my damaged copy of Tales From Earthsea Bluray they said I didn't have to send it back. But I didn't receive that e-mail until after I sent it back, and the reimbursed they shipping costs.

When I mentioned something about my Saki Achiga-hen box being damaged, I was told (by people here who had gotten replacements before) that I wouldn't need to ship it back, as long as I provided a photo. I didn't actually do it, because I don't have a camera (and meh it's been too long now to make a claim). But that seems to back up what sailor said about not needing to send it back.
I guess the next step is to contact them and I'll see what happens?
Thank you both for your responses.

Default Pre-order Price Guarantee

Are Amazon points included in the Pre-order Price Guarantee?

No, you will always get whatever percentage of points were assigned at the point you ordered. (Note that I'm pretty sure it's percentage, not actual point value. If the price itself were to drop, I think you would get points assigned at the stated rate when you ordered based on the lower price.)

Ok, that's what I thought, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks

I guess that Amazon's calendar's hit a particular point in the month and they've returned to no longer splitting orders? I placed my order for January releases a couple of days ago, and it included several in-stock items. Most of them have not (yet?) been split off and shipped.

I'll keep watching with my fingers crossed, though. ^^

I guess it's a little late for them to be 100% sure it would be shipped before Christmas. But, that gives a good idea when you need to order for your order to be split.

Amazon split off three copies of one item, two of which I had flagged for "gift-wrapping" by Amazon since they'll be Xmas presents. That might have induced the split for those items. Amazon's projecting a delivery date of 19 Dec, but since it left HK a few hours ago, I'm actually expecting it to arrive tomorrow (which will be the 19th in Japan, so it's both right and wrong ^^; ). Transit time obviously doesn't factor into their split-for-Xmas/no-split decision. I'm curious to see if AmazonJP's changed their "wrapping", since the last time I selected it (out of curiosity then), the DVD/BD/whatever was merely placed inside a colorful paper-board envelope with a small, square piece of paper that had my message printed on it... A friend's told me that AmazonUS uses actual wrapping-paper so I was disappointed, but I've never tried their wrapping services.

At least six other items in the order are ones that Amazon's website said were in stock, but they're staying with the rest of the stuff that comes out mostly in January (three of the remaining items do have a 26 Dec release date, with the next date being 12 Jan). When I placed the order, three of the in-stock items were being shown as having just one or two copies left; one is now "5-9 days", one is in stock, and the last is "1 left, more on the way". I'll probably check the order review page multiple times per day, to see if it splits. ^^ It's hard to tell, given that things can be shipped from different warehouses, and we never know what their computer's thinking. <sigh>

Has anyone tried using the Shop Ding Dong ( http://www.shopdingdong.com/ ) freeware that automatically orders out of stock stuff from Amazon JP (and other JP sites) for you when it comes back in stock? Seems like it would come in handy, although I'm a little paranoid about plugging my password into something like this.

Nope. I wasn't even aware of its existence until now. ^^;

I think it probably wouldn't work very well for International customers due to the high shipping costs for individual items (unless you were having it shipped to Tenso or somewhere, but still).

But honestly, this annoys me. At a certain point, it just means that you can't beat them except by joining them (because the more people use this, the harder it will be for the regular customer to have any hope without it).
