Assuming it doesn't get too much better or worse, it will basically come down to the release configuration and specs (and price). I don't even know when those would be announced, since that's actually kind of dependent on what said specs are (sub-only or DVD-only can get here faster than bilingual Blu-rays, for example). Nice to see them progressing on this so quickly, anyway.

For those who are unaware of this, the series is longer than 1 cour (12 episodes).

Very true, but I'm going by what's solicited in Japan for home video release.

To clarify, I believe it was stated early on to be two cours, though I don't recall if it was 24, 25, or 26 episodes.

I'd definitely consider 14 one cour (Haruhi, for example), and probably at least to 15.

Blast of Tempest will be off for the next two weeks for New Year's break and resume airing on January 10th, 2013.

More exposure is always a good thing, and Aniplex is sure high on this title to have Hulu stream it as well.
