I know the protag before being wisked away is it's set from the same universe just not sure which version, the OVA or TV? I know it's not Tenchi in Tokyo universe.

However, I really hate the name... Tenchi Muyo to me is about Tenchi. This is not about Tenchi. technically it's not even in the same universe since he gets spirited away.

Has there been any announcement as to Funi's Blu-ray/DVD plans for the show yet? I don't recall seeing anything on it since the license itself.

Outside of what's posted in this thread, nothing more is really known publicly. We don't know for sure if Blu-ray will be included either. The free online streaming was completed last month. So in all likelihood that we should see a home video release solicited anywhere for April to mid-2013.

With the English cast getting announced at Ohayocon, it's very likely the the series will be released either in May or a potential late addition solicitation candidate for prior months.

EDIT: The complete series coming 2013 (format is still unknown). Clip is 1080p capable.

So 13 episodes @ ~45 min. each = 585 minutes.

It's interesting that FUNimation decided to go with a complete collection release (when they could have split the series to two releases). It makes me wonder if the MSRP would be higher for this. While the release format is still not revealed, but I'm still guess that a Blu-ray / DVD Combo configuration (LE and reg) will be utilized.
