Anime Sales in Japan - 2013 (Released volumes)

I'm guessing the data for 12/24~12/30 isn't coming out today. I thought the Tuesday data might still come out and the full data was just delayed, but it looks like it's all delayed. I'm not sure if we'll get a preliminary list before Sunday...? Anyone know when the partial Youtaiju goes out this week?

Pretty sure there are holidays until the 6th in Japan, so that might be the cause.

Yeah, I know most places are closed these few days. I just thought the schedule I read indicated they'd be releasing but I probably misread it. Data was posted on the first Tuesday last year, but that fell later, on January 4th.

It will likely be just futsukayoi, mochitsuki and mamemaki in Japan for the week...

Sales figures I can give you for sure as I have them in my collection after arriving over the past week, one each of:

Not thinking any will rank but now you know they sold at least one of each...

Perhaps you could explain the reason you are pretty sure there are holidays until the 6th in Japan, because as far as I know Jan 4th is a working day in Japan if it does not fall on a weekend, and this year it falls on Friday.

Guy who gets me my anime says that the post office is closed until the 6th, and if post offices are closed then it's only natural to assume that mostly everything else is as well.

He also told me that he had heard that Amazon.jp has set up private couriers for shipments to people who live within a certain range of any Amazon warehouses. An order of anime CD's from Amazon got delivered to him by a private courier.

= I'm pretty sure that there are holidays.

Well, the stock market will open on Jan 4th, as are the banks and many shops. In fact, I just checked the Post Office website and many of its offices are open even during new year! (all the insurance and pension sections will be closed until Jan 3rd but for post service many offices will open over the new year) http://www.jp-network.japanpost.jp/services/newyear/ http://www.jp-network.japanpost.jp/s.../pdf/01_04.pdf In short, Jan 4th is NOT a public holiday but a working day, which has been the case for all the years I have been living in Japan.

Guess either he was wrong or my memory sucks. Maybe he did say 4th now that I think about it. Either way my post was only relevant to sales data anyway. Shops closed = less sales/delay.
