Hm... That's pretty cheap (relatively...). Shipping's 2000 yen, right? So even with shipping that's under $200... Maybe...

Decent effort here. It's not a 100% better, but in general it is more detailed than the DVD, maybe a little too sharp when it comes to aliasing, but that was probably unavoidable. The level of detail is probably around 540p. I don't think you should really expect too much more from a nearly decade show old digitally animated show that wasn't made with HD in mind. That they recomposited instead of just pushing out a lazy upscale is appreciated. Look like that redid all the text for titles/credits as well. They also added a credits page for the HD mastering after the end of the credits.

One thing I do wish is that it came in a chipboard box. Occasionally lower priced JP box sets (like this one) don't come in chipboard boxes, but it would have been nice.

I feel 70% confident that this will get an English release from Sentai/Maiden Japan. Its a good seller for them and assuming they can get the BD Rights for America then i can totally see this coming over in a year or two

It would be a good chance for them to finally include the special.

ADV Films still holds the license rights. The R1 DVD release is still in-print and actively distributed by Section23 Films. The license rescued UK release coming later this month still has the ADV Films logo on its cover.

Until ADV Films lose its license rights, Sentai Filmworks or Maiden Japan won't do anything with it (that's if they chose to license rescue it).
