So...yeah. I don't know quite what I was expecting, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't that.

Sasami is indeed a NEET, and she does indeed observer her brother's interactions with three sisters...

...but then the world turns into chocolate and the sisters start fighting it. And then Sasami was chocolate.

Well, that was pretty damn good. And quite weird.

All I knew about the story was "hikikomori imouto". I usually try not to find out much if anything about a show before it airs (usually don't even watch PVs) and I made a point to avoid anything once I heard something about it having a twist. I *WAS* expecting something weird because its by the author of Kyouran Kazoku Nikki. That plus Shaft was why I was excited about this show. I guess it more or less met my expectations.

Currently, its a tough call between Sasami and Tsurigi (red-haired sister voiced by Saito Chiwa) for my favorite girls.

That was surely bizarre as fuck, but absolutely fantastic.

The direction and art direction was really good. I like how the two different designs of Sasami's world and the outside world contrast. The watercoloring style used in Sasami's world is really nice and mimics Hidari's art. Speaking about Hidari, the anime character designer did a good job adapting his designs.

I think this is a keeper if SHAFT can continue with the utter whackiness.

I was excpecting a slowly moving "better" harem show, kind of like ~monogatari, that takes a while to get used to and starts up building steam in the later episodes. I am glad i had a nice beer before watching this episode. Not sure what my brain would have done, if i'd watched this completely sober. So, this first episode is now rated "totally awesome".

I love the art, i love the characters, i love the pacing. I love the obvious fact, that even though the creative team is doing drugs, they come up with something so amazing.

Episode 1:

- Asumi Kanaaaaaa! And haha oh that Otsuka Houchuu.
- Onii-chan isn't anything like what I expected at all. Thought he would be more flustered with Sasami's behavior, but he's a total siscon.
- Naked Sasami already. ::thumbs up::
- Wow, onii-chan is pretty damn skilled. He could be one of those anime super butlers.
- Brother-sister tooth brushing again! ...Much less exciting this time.

- O_o Oh wow, Nonaka Ai's character knows how to make an entrance.
- "I'd kill them, tee-hee!" >_>
- She's an elementary schooler... what are they feeding kids these days?
- Oh onii-chan you idiot. Sasami's chocolate. ;_;
- Oooh, that changing scene looked great. Even if the censorship was totally unnecessary, becase I doubt she's going commando.

- Saitou Chiwa's character plays eroge in the faculty lounge. =D
- And onii-chan does Hare Hare Yukai, ahaha.
- Hanazawa Kana. What a godly seiyuu list.
- "This one's only chocolate, where did the love and elections go?" Hahahha

...And then chocolate envelops the world and the sisters fight an amazingly animated battle against it. And Sasami becomes naked and covered in chocolate.

Um, yeah wow. That was pretty awesome. Shaft also seems to be at the top of their game with production values here, let's hope they can keep that up.

Way too many great shows this season, gah. Really glad I only imported 4 from Fall now.

I have no idea what the fuck I just watched. Nor do I even have the capability of understanding random breast rockets fighting a world that has turned to chocolate. Closest I can analogize to is like trying to understand Lacan.

Sasami is great, but her brother gets the "most annoying character of the season" award.

And suddenly, last episode makes complete sense.

Sasami freaking out was pretty funny. And highly animated. There was a minute or two in which she was in near constant motion. And she even did Wile E Coyote eyes!

It's been a while since I studied Japanese mythology so I forgot a lot, but I thought this was a pretty interesting take on it. I mean, Amaterasu as a hikikomori, hiding in her cave. I'm less convinced what they decided to do with her brother (who I find annoying as fuck).

And wow, were those three sisters cruel (treasure your obis!). ;_; I'd recommending leaving her cave just to save her laptops.
