Well, this right here is one of the reason why I stopped buying R1. They are doing great for Bake, but were not able to do the same for Nise. I understand what could be the reasons behind it, but still it's frustrating.

Skip. will import the AU version if it does indeed have the commentary track.

So the commentary tracks are more important than audio visual quality? Personally I'll just buy the Aussie release when a sale is on or something to complement the AoA release....

Didn't know the AU was DVD only... well I'll just skip the release till it comes out on BD in the way I want. Just cause it's DVD now doesnt mean they wont do BD in the future.

If the commentary was your normal commentary with the cast/crew talking about the show and experience while working on the show etc... I can live without. But these are in character commentary that is fully scripted by the writer. I consider it apart of the show and not including it will mean I will not be buying it.

I'll probably import Oreimo instead from AmazonJP. The US price AoA wants is crap given the current exchange rate.

No commentary kind of sucks. I like the Bake commentary, but I'll still get it. I wonder why they could do the commmentary for Bake but not Nise.

My guesses are either a) they just couldn't get the rights to use the audio files for Nise's commentary tracks (assuming they actually mean it's not included and not just unsubbed) or b) Bake's sales weren't good enough to justify the cost of getting them with the license

Though a slim to none chance, I'm still hoping that AniplexUSA announces a delay to get this added.

Well, I think it is because, Nise last volume in Japan was released in August. Which is a completely different situation compare to Bake.

Maybe they could have negotiated to have the commentaries available but only in Dolby Digital or something rather than PCM? Better than nothing.

I'll import the AU release at some point since I already own the JP BDs.

But, I wouldn't be surprised, as, you said, there was a rights issues for the commentary tracks. That's the reason given for why AoA's Oreimo US DVD release did not contain the commentary videos.

Well, possibly reverse importation fears too as Damius pointed out since I don't know if it's possible to do locked subs with multiple sub tracks. I'm not familiar at all with the BD authoring process. AoA could have gotten away with it if two video tracks with locked subs were included or possible just locked subs on the commentary assuming they re-authored the discs instead of using what the JP volumes used.
