I've really enjoyed reading the new Genshiken so definitely excited for the anime adaptation. I hope we get seiyuu information on the new characters soon.

I wonder if this means I need to finish Genshiken 2 now. Dunno when I'll find time to do that. Guess it depends if it's a direct sequel or not.

It is, although there are chapters not covered in the prior anime that aren't going to get animated so there will be a gap regardless. OTOH, there's really no reason you couldn't jump right in since it's sort of its own thing.
