tbh, I'm not even sure how reverse importation can be that much of an actual problem factor when TRSI speciifcally states they won't ship to Japan

I mean it still is, but you'd think that would lessen it being a problem somewhat

but hey I'm not Japan so what do I know

Even if a shop won't ship to JP, folks have something called friends and family... who can.

Given that AU has commentary and US doesn't... doesn't seem to me like it is a license issue. Otherwise AU wouldn't have gotten the commentary track.

It's either cost or due to reverse import fears since the AU release is DVD and US is BD. I doubt dropping the commentary to lossy quality would mean much... Mono would still work for me since it's a commentary track.

Pretty sure that could still count as a licensing issue. Just a region/format specific one.

I might have just bought this if it had the commentary. I think that the commentary for Bakemonogatari might have been my favorite parts. As it stands, I'll probably just watch it on Crunchyroll sometime since I wasn't really enamored with Bakemonogatari.

General concensus is that Nisemono is multiple degrees worse than Bakemono, so if you didn't really enjoy Bakemono, it's probably wise not to drop this level of money on Nisemono.

Hmm. Multiple degrees worse? I don't know. I did not like it as much as Bake, but the character interactions are still great. The slower pacing was great.. But on the other hand. Not enough happened, haha.

I guess that I do not agree with the "General consensus"...

Well I just read the summaries and saw the screen shots... not enough Senjougahara. I thought this was more of a bridge series to the next one. Lack of commentaries will mean a skip.

Looking forward to the prequel thou... hope that release doesnt get f'd up as well. They should just put the English subs on the JP release and be done with it. Then they can butcher the NA release and give folks the option to import if they are so afraid of reverse imports.

Most reviews/comments I saw, including my own, hated how slow it was. Sure, the character interactions were great, but most of the first half of the series was the same old stuff we'd already seen. Second half was good, but still.
