Naval has been lacking in bishoujo military fun. We have armor (GirlPan, Sora no Woto). We have infantry (Upotte!!). We have an air force (Sky Girls, Strike Witches). Who will protect us on the high seas?

(I'm ignoring Lime-iro Senkitan, which I think was a flying ship anyway, if I remember correctly.)
TDF Mao-chan's Sylvia Maruyama and her submarine is probably the closest I think...

Not sure if on topic or not but I noticed that for the twelve top selling 10000+ series in 2012, the top 6 aired on Crunchyroll, next two (Chuunibyo and To Love Ru) aired on TAN/AOD and the next four also on Crunchyroll. Funimation was shut out of big sellers in 2012 which may not bode well for their Region 1 dubs and subs disc sales. No correlation to sales in Japan I know, just found it interesting.

Crunchyroll will license anything and everything but they still did a good job last year in getting the winners. We'll see how they do in 2013...

What is interesting is, if TBS shows would have simulcast on CR, CR would have get all the shows in the top 12. TBS... You need to let CR simulcast your shows!

We need an Arpeggio of Blue Steel anime.

(or a Kurogane Puka Puka Tai anime...that would be amazing)

It would be great if Crunchyroll got their shows. One stop shopping, no yellow eyesore subs, best player...

Big Thursday.

Fall update:
Zetsuten v1 sells 884/1027, total 1,911. That's with an event ticket, and I just noticed this is set to be ~12 volumes. Ouch.

Robotics;Notes v1 sells 1,235 BDs, DVDs do not rank. Steins;Gate this obviously is not.

Psycho-Pass v2 sells 5197/1557, total 6,754. This is up 19.4% on v1wk1. Whether this means this volume is just more front-loaded with more people buying it in the opening week, or whether it'll actually sell more, remains to be seen.
v1 adds 330 BDs, total 8,644 in wk6.

Busou Shinki v2 sells 2132/632, total 2,764.

Kaibutsu-kun v3 sells 1062/770, total 1,832.

Shinsekai Yori v3 sells 462 BDs, DVDs do not rank.

BTOOOM! v3 sells 345 BDs, DVDs do not rank. First time it's ranked in either format.

Chuunibyou v2 adds 1263 BDs, total 15,384. Much smaller second week than v1, maybe this will be more typical going forward. v1's 1.7k was quite large.

K v4 adds 271 BDs, total 7,063.

Summer update:
Sword Art Online v4 sells 24247/5462, total 29,709.
v1 adds 298 BDs, total 44,629.
v3 adds 392 BDs, total 36,259.

Kokoroko v4 sells 1,968 BDs, DVDs do not rank.

Utakoi v5 sells 675/777, total 1,452.

Boku wa H v4 sells 1,430 BDs, DVDs do not rank.

KoiChoco v5 sells 1,195 BDs, DVDs do not rank.

Ebiten v3 sells 415 BDs, DVDs do not rank. First time this show has ranked in either format.

Yuru Yuri♪♪ v5 adds 493 BDs, total 6,279.

Jintai v5 adds 331 BDs, total 4,820.

Past seasons:
NatsuKise v7, final volume, sells 1862/632, total 2,494. Final average: 2,986.

SenColle v11 sells 728/1543, total 2,271.
v12, final volume, sells 740/1562, total 2,302
Current final average: 2,442.

OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
Star Driver BD Box sells 1,691.

SotaOto f BD Box sells 1,243.

Minami-ke BD Box adds 449, total 3,598. Bigger than wk2, the fourth season seems to be helping.

Kokoro Connect drops under 2000 first week... The Tonari no Kaibutsu kun 3 sales are bad. The Shinsekai Yori 3 sales are depressing. BTOOOM finally ranking would be OK if it weren't so sad.

Sukitte ii na yo 2 not ranking with even 269 cutoff is, well... Before the top 100 at least you could hope it sold 1000 but now we now it is sadder than that. I think two or three of us here import it and we are apparently 1% of sales... Poor Kanae. Along with Tonari, poor Dessert magazine. Probably the last anime they fund unless manga sales increase was enough and I don't think it was as it still doesn't sell anything like a Kimi ni Todoke or Chihayafuru. Sad, sad...

I'm still somewhat surprised that SSY sells SO badly, as i can't say a lot of bad things about the show and keep looking forward to and enjoying it every week. I wonder were the big rift with the anime-buying crowd comes from.

Guess in the end an average of about 3,000 is ok. It is a fun show and i'm glad to have it completed by now.

Yeah, no surprise here. I dropped my import plans rather early and the many only-2-episodes-per-volume releases aren't helping to change that.
