So we are gonna have a 3rd Saber... Well I think Kari Wahlgren will sound better than Michelle Ruff did as Saber. Never felt right with me for some reason. Time will tell.
4 characters show up again in FSN... Saber, Archer, Kotomine Kirei & Emiya Kiritsugu. Looks like they were all recast. George Grant is in both but before he was Archer (Gilgamesh) in FSN... now he is listed as Lancer in Zero. |

Obviously I have to agree about the bizarre lack of consistency with the returning characters. Also, a few New York guys are appearing in an LA dub! Maybe they moved?
AoA has only ever had anything dubbed by Bang Zoom!, and with Tony Oliver directing, that's almost definitely the case here, so considering they just recently managed to get everyone but Saber back from the original dub years ago, even though that was licensed by a different company as well. And they didn't even keep the Saber they just cast for that dub. In fact, some of the original cast is in there as different characters! Fate/Zero had completely different staff and companies behind it from Fate/stay night, but the cast was the one thing that remained consistent. Maybe AoA really just wants to distance it from the series they're uninvolved with that much, but they'd have to make a specific request to Bang Zoom!, because they're the ones who cast it, and they handled the original dub and kept everyone consistent when they went back to it, and I can't imagine why AoA would be that adamant about starting from scratch. Considering Bang Zoom! dubs almost everything not by one of the two Texas giants, and considering I like Marc Diraison a good deal, I'd be alright with him having moved to LA. Considering how much of a part of NYAV Post he is, though, he may have just been over there for their bi-coastal dubbing if maybe Michael (Sinterniklaas) or Stephanie Sheh was tied up for some reason. It's looks like Lucien Dodge was in Tiger & Bunny, so it looks likely that he did move to LA. And damn, I guess that worked out for him. He's been at this for years and has done almost nothing but a few minor Pokemon roles, and now he gets this. Very nice to see. But more importantly than all that, it looks like a very solid cast list, and everyone sounds good. Like EmperorBrandon, I also had Bridget Hoffman as my choice for Irisviel back when we were doing fantasy casts for it. I'm glad she was agreed on as the perfect choice. Unfortunately, I don't know when I'll be able to hear this. I don't have a consistently free enough schedule to pay for a special linear service, and considering we still haven't heard anything about a physical release for the Blue Exorcist dub after all this time, it seems unlikely that we'd get this on home video anytime soon. Obviously if/when it ever does, I'm getting it immediately, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for that to happen (also, I just have to mention that I finished Aniplex's sub-only $700 set of releases THREE DAYS AGO).

Also, listening to it, it sounds like Rin is still Mela Lee (although maybe it's just my bias of thinking it would still be her), and Sakura is Christine Marie Cabanos.

I figured that Fate/Zero would get a dub, but I wasn't expecting the whole thing to be done from square one, considering that VA's that have voiced other characters in Fate/Stay Night are in it. I knew that Aniplex would dub this show someday, but I wasn't expecting them to go union with this given that the FSN dub was not. Of course, with Kate Higgins moving on to other things that they needed a new Saber. Interesting to see that Marc Diraison is in it, as it seems like he has moved to LA. Lucien Dodge is also another VA that's originally from NY as well. It's going to be a bit weird hearing different voices, and that's something to ask about.
