Default UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie dub impressions.

Since no one else has started a topic on this I figured I would get the ball rolling. I wasn't really expecting much from this show. I don't know what it was exactly, maybe the trailer just didn't do anything for me. The fact that it was a three disk release is probably what pushed this from renting to buying, coupled with the obvious fanservice and the opinions of people who have already seen the show. Anyways I was pleasantly surprised. Its a great, fun and funny show.

My favorites of the dub have to be Christine Auten as Ms Sanada. Ms Sanada is crazy. The third episode with her had me laughing hard. When I read the synopsis before the dvd came out I thought "Catgirl ray gun? Man that sounds stupid." But she was hilarious, and its a high energy character I'm not used to hearing her play. Nancy Novotny's Hydra is a great sarcastic loudmouth, in both her sizes. Cynthia Martinez plays a great Akina. Its a little more mature sounding than alot of her other characters. I assume its closer to her normal speaking voice. Monica Rial as Rika is very nice too. She is laid back sounding compared to her other characters of that age. Greg Ayers and Kira Vincent Davis are good as Kazuto and Valkyrie, but its not anything you haven't heard from them before. But I guess thats not the point. The point is they were quite good and made the characters likeable. I don't want to sound as though I like every dub I hear and lack the ability to criticize anything. Thats not true. In this case I was nicely surprised by this show and its dub. So what do you think?

edit- forgot about Andrew Love as Spottenheim. He only had a few lines here and there, mostly "ouch that hurts" and "let go of my ears" etc. He sounds like he could be the new Jason Douglas or Mike McRea. I'd like to see him in more stuff.
