Yeah, with a lead role in the biggest show of the year and a host of fantastic roles besides, there's no good argument against Ao-chan. Not huge surprise on Kayano Ai either, she completely exploded into the industry after Menma and she's got loads of range.

On a related note, some of us have occasionally wished we could listen to certain seiyuu (particularly Noto Mamiko) just, say, read a phone book or a dictionary, and we'd be in heaven. Well, its not Noto Mamiko, but its at least as good as far as I'm concerned. There is going to be a CD of Yuuki Aoi reading history words and puns. I am so getting this (already ordered it, in fact).

Today, it's November 11 in Japan. It means it's Komatsu Mikako birthday! 2012 was an awesome year for Komatsu Mikako. She did Marika Katou Marika the best character of the year, the best performance of the year. She is also currently doing Neko in K which I love as well. And she also did awesome songs, Toumei na Yozora ~Shibataku Hoshi ni Tsutsumarete~, Mirai Funaji, Mirai Kouro and Black Holy from Mouretsu Pirates and Tsumetai Hiya, Hitori from K.

::checks:: Ah, I was thinking maybe the K ED came out on her birthday, but it was 11/07. Close enough! She's obviously the biggest seiyuu discovery of the year for me, hands down. And she's only 23 (not super young, but not old), so here's hoping she has many years to come in the industry.
