I skipped out on the JP BD box, but I'll buy this. Just don't expect any miracles. The OVA in particular doesn't exactly look amazing, but it's the fault of the SD source. Can we have something at least somewhat similar to the JP packaging? It was nice.

Aniplex USA's first BD release. I'm pretty sure I will be getting this.

I may pick this up. It depends on how bad the upscaling is done. I actually just sold my (unwatched) DVD set not to long ago.

Always kinda sad when a company's first BD title is something I'm not interested in... which is why I'm ecstatic here, because I LOVE R.O.D.! Great news! Very excited to pick this up.

This is a pretty good upscale from what I've seen, virtually no ringing, and no Q-TEC funny business. I kind of wish they'd release something native HD if they're going Blu-ray, but I guess you could do worse than R.O.D as a first entry.

I wonder if they'll fix the crappy Mangle subtitle translation, which had stuff like a really blatant error where a book that Yomiko buys was subtitled as costing a small amount of money, but the actual dialogue said it cost like 100 times what the subtitles showed.
