My definition would be that in a 4-koma manga a story (usually a joke) is told in 4 panels, while in a 1-page manga it is told on one page (not necessarily limited to 4 panels, could be more/less). 4-koma typically use square(-ish) panels, so typically 2 fit side-by-side on a page.

Anyway, my suggestion to the (wish)list: "Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to". Its the new manga by Hiroyuki, the creator of Doujin Work. It's not brilliant, but still kind of fun. As the title implies it's about a mangaka and his assistants, who (including his editor, editor-in-chief, house-boss [kanrinin] and her sister) are all female, while the mangaka himself is a pervert who can't think of anything but female underwear. It's one of the few 4-koma manga (hybrid actually, all styles: regular, 1-page, 4-koma) that has furigana that I have encountered.

Hmm...it would be somewhat difficult to write a definition of '1-page manga' which is concise and easy to understand for laymen at the same time. But how about, say, 'a manga in which the length of one chapter or one sub-chapter is one page'?

I think that probably it is better to rectify the title of the manga and write it as Pani Poni. As I said, the correct title of the manga in question is Pani Poni. Pani Poni Dash is just the title of the anime version.

I suppose that is probably a typo, because the entry probably refers to this manga and the title of the manga is 『生徒会のヲタのしみ。』 Seitokai no Otanoshimi (As the URL suggests, some people may write it as Seitokai no Wotanoshimi, though). It may be better to fix it.

Sorry about it if my words about Sketchbook were insufficient. Sketchbook is basically a 4-koma manga, and it is occaisionally drawn in other formats, including the 1-page manga format.

Isn't the old anime classics like
Tensai Bakabon and Sazae-san based off 4-panel comic strips, just to name a few?
I think most manga that ran in daily newspapers in the 50s and 60s were in 4 panel formats (that's where 4-koma came from), and a lot of those were turned in to anime in the 70s and 80s.
