Episode 57:

- I suppose one good thing about all this Jellal stuff is that I actually don't know what it is he wants or is going to do. Or even how much he remembers. Since waking up all he's really done is walk with a deadpan expression on his face.
- Really now? Sherry is going to turn evil and blame Gray for this? That would be dumb. She's not strong enough to cause real trouble anyway (hell even Lucy beat her).
- I really really hate "Desu ne" guy. The rest of Oracion Seis is okay but's another of these damn super-goofy types I can't stand.

- Finally Wendy is awake! And she actually does something productive for the very first time since her introduction, sheesh. But wooo, Erza is back!
- Cat's name is Carla now?
- Yeah... yeah it really is all your fault Wendy. Good going. God damnit you're so cute but so dumb.

- Ah so they at least explain Sherry's sudden burst of stupid. Makes sense.
- Well Gray went down like a little bitch.
- Hahah what the fuck? Poor Jura.
- And Midnight finally makes a move.

So anyone want to take bets on how many episodes it'll be until we see Evil Erza? Unfortunately I anticipate them going the route of Natsu vs Evil Erza and Natsu winning.

Oops, Lyon sacrificing himself had the nasty side effect of turning Sherry evil. Well, that plus Nirvana being unsealed but she was only a few steps away from attacking Gray anyway.

And it looks like Erza is the next one that's going to be affected by it.

Surprise Aries appearance!! But she's forced to fight agains Leo. And then that bitch Angel takes BOTH of them out with one of her other summons.

I was annoyed at how the battle concluded. Lucy gets a major fight against another summoner.... but can only win because someone else shoved an instant win spell into her head.

Sorry, but Lucy isn't supposed to actually be that powerful... She barely beat that member of the Raijinshuu, and she needed to team up with Juvia for the battle with Vivaldus...

Having her beat a member of Oracian Seis _without_ some hax would be more out of character.
Angel clearly had more experience and better control of her magic than Lucy... She also effectively neutralized all of Lucy's weapons (gemini->taurus, aries->leo, scorpio->aquarius).

This was the only way to give Lucy a good showcase battle and not have it end up with her dead .

I know she's not, but it would be nice for her to not constantly require help from people other than her summons. She's a summoner! She's supposed to fight with her summons. Also, we know she has some minimal combat abilities (which she used in her fight against Sherry), she could try putting them to use rather than just sit there while her summons are getting KOed or otherwise neutralized.

It's not like enemies having better skill, more power and more experience has ever stopped shonen heroes from overcoming their foes. Also, she never summoned Virgo though that's mainly because she ran out of the magical stamina to do it. She should have picked Virgo over Taurus though.

Also WTF Wendy, why introduce her if she's going to spend the entire arc kidnapped or unconscious?

- stuff stuff... Two Lucys! Double sexiness!
- Haha oh wow. Gemini-Lucy has no inhibitions about about using others' bodies. Thank goodness! Sadly they couldn't manipulate us a better camera angle.
- stuff stuff... Wet Lucy with her hair down!
- Oh figures Angel has Aries.
- I'd totally forgotten about Karen. So huh, Angel killed her.
- Uhhh and Hibiki knew Karen?

- Hahahaha um, somehow I can't see Aries vs Loke as an even match. Especially with her attacks making baaah sounds.
- Errr did Angel just one-shot Leo and Aries? Guess he's out of it for a while.
- Lucy you may be hot but you kinda suck.

- Haha ummm... so, sudden level ups are one thing, but Lucy just downloaded some hax. Wtf. Kind of silly, but her bewildered reaction afterward is pretty awesome. And obviously this wouldn't have worked if she didn't have the magical power inside her to pull it off.

So Lucy gets to take down an Oracion Seis by essentially cheating. Well, good on her anyway.

- Oh Angel is still...

- Seeing Lucy protecting Natsu is unusual, but kinda cool. Even if by "protecting" I mean "holding onto him while they fall off a waterfall".
- "Your death will no be in vain." But like, nobody dies in this. And Angel was quite clearly alive after falling into the water. I guess Brain just thinks she's dead.
- ...Yep.

- Poor Jura.

- Oh hey Wendy, gonna do something productive now? Or ever? Not that I've finally adjusted to your insane cuteness and sexy legs, I'm sorta disappointed at how your character has been used. Or misused as it were.
- Backstory. Well, I was thinking it'd be something more dramatic to make her feel so indebted.
- And Jellal has amnesia, whee.

- Oh god I love Erza. So badass. She doesn't break down and run sobbing into Jellal's arms, she gets pissed and doesn't seem terribly inclined to forgiveness.
- Though the tears will probably soften her...

Well, Midnight will probably be arriving soon, and Cobra obviously isn't going to sit around and watch. I guess Brain needs to move out soon too. I'm just hoping Erza doesn't do anything stupid.
