Jura vs Jellal fight was quite good until... they had no choice to do that kind of ending. Well, I'm still looking forward for a really good fight involving a Fairy Tail's member from start to finish.

As generic a shounen fight as you can get. But this show still does this sort of thing remarkably well, although I really can't point to any reason why. And Fairy Tail finally got some real points, which is obviously starting to become more and more necessary. Also, the evil plan in the background is starting to be revealed more. Next time: fanservice.

I still don't get why they want Wendy and Charla so bad.
What's so special about them?

Elfman vs Bacchus!
That was kinda pathetic at first.
The lizardman form was pretty cool.
Seems like Fairy Tail is the weakest of them all.
At this rate they don't stand a chance..

Episode 162:

Someone please kill "COOL COOL" guy. Anyway with the condition Bacchus set, you knew Elfman would win. But the fact that he even considered Bacchus' condition in his desire to prove his manliness was annoying. A "real man" would have refused the very thought of betting his sisters' bodies like that.

Next time, a gravure battle. Yay.

Oh well, I didn't really like that episode... But, finally Fairy Tail got 10 points for a total of 12. What will happen next?

Elfman was pretty amazing, but he also pretty beat up.
Mirajne vs Jenny!
They were competing for the centerfold and not fighting.
That was pretty LOL and total fan service!
Somehow it turned into a weird clothes contest between every female guild member.
WTF?! happened to this episode.... Well, I'm glad she won.
That Eclipse gate thing sounds interesting. Hope that part will start soon.

Episode 163:

- Ah good, Wendy is back on the team with Elfmann out.
- Well, I guess Mirajane would completely pulverize Jenny in an actual physical fight. Ths puts them on more even terms, though Mirajane still wins for me.
- ...Okay nevermind, Sherry and Chelia win, hands down. Sisterly love~
- Hahahahah I love Mavis.
- School swimsuits. This is Wendy and Levy's time to shine.
- Heh and now Fairy Tail starts shipping all its members.
- Lucy doesn't have a partner... oh right. I have to assume this show will try to pair up Natsu and Lucy eventually, but clearly not yet. Lisanna is still here after all.
- Though I guess they did just give a nod to the potential live traingle right here.
- The loser has to do a nude shoot. Mira just smiles and agrees. o_O
- Oh lol. Mirajane is evil.

Well that was certainly nice in is own way, but the next match could be awesome.

Well that was a brief but really awesome match. Kagura is definitely a very notable character now. Mermaid Heel hasn't seemed very important, but I have a feeling this won't be the last we see of that character.

Poor Yukino. Looks like things are going from bad to worse for her. I'm glad to see that the next episode will continue the focus on her, as that almost surely means Fairy Tail will jump and save her against Sabertooth's Nazi of a Master. I never thought they were really that bad, especially with Raven Tail filling that role in this arc, but it looks like everything that's wrong with them comes from that guy. I assume he'll have to be taken down, then the guild at large can be relatively civil with Fairy Tail from that point on.

Also, Erza reunites with one of her Tower of Heaven friends! Great to see. I wonder what she'll think when Jellal inevitably shows up and starts talking to Erza when she's around.

They sure has a lot to lose.
That bet was not a smart move.
This battle between celestial wizards really was something.
It was weird to see one of the Sabertooth lose, but that Raven Tail is just dangerous.
Second part of the episode was good but in a relaxing way.
