Your issues were with PowerDVD, not HOTD. You could try staying away from discs with AACS protection, but since all commercial blu-rays use it, you won't be watching much if you do.

If you already have the latest patch, and PowerDVD comes up with a box that says you need to update, click 'Yes' and wait. It'll look like the player has stalled or isn't doing anything, but just wait a few minutes, and the disc should start (I'm assuming it's downloading some keys or something in the background.)

Granted I don't have any discs with AACS 24/25 yet (and I'm a lifetime subscriber to AnyDVD HD anyway), but at least that's the way it has worked for me previously.

True, the issue was with the software. But this was the first time it happened. Maybe I should test it with a recent realese? I did just watch Drive Angry with no problems though... *browses netflix*

My copy of PowerDVD 8 came with the disc drive. Maybe the version I have isn't a full version? I know there was a popup box that asked me to update, and I did. Then a another box would show and said that it has completed updating or something. But it still wouldn't work.

anyone have any problems with the audio? I just popped this in to watch with my cousin whos visiting and for some reason its locked in English. I cant move the menu when i go to the audio options. If i try to force it when its already playing it seems to kinda work, but it seems very strange that you cant switch it from the menu. The PS3 remotes actually charging at the moment so i was just using the LG player and that one has a universal remote that wont let me switch the audio while its playing

Do i got a defective disk or am i just missing something. The 'language' section cant be adjusted no matter what i try hitting on the PS3 OR LG remote.

*edit* Made a post over in the glitch disk forum, wasn't sure if that would be a better place to ask.

I guess the OVA would have to be sub only? Not that I'd care too much, that dub started off decent then degenerated into typical Stephen Foster drivel..

From Manga UK Facebook

"We're happy to announce that on June 17th 2013 we'll be releasing "Highschool Of The Dead: Drifters Of The Dead Edition" on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Both the DVD and Blu-Ray editions will come packed with a bonus DVD containing the OVA episode "Drifters Of The Dead" along with episodes 1-12 of the series itself.

This release will also have an O-card and (as JM at Manga HQ put it) "new sexy artwork."

Cheap, the OVA was released on BD in JP. Putting it on a DVD is to cut costs. Don't want to pay for a BD25 for a single short episode? Remaster one of the BD to include it as an extra.
