1 & Only DeepDiscount Thread - Part 7

I've been feeling pretty annoyed with DD myself lately. I've been a big fan of the site for a long time and probably bought 90% of the DVDs I own through them since I got weaned off Suncoast back in the early 00's, but recently it's just been getting ridiculous.

For most of the time I've been buying from them, their shipping service has been just like everyone else's, first class/media mail, 2-3 days normally, maybe 4 tops. Starting last year though, for whatever reason it's been taking 7-10 days every time I order something from their DVD selection. (Strangely, the couple of times I've ordered books from them recently, those have arrived in just a couple of days.)

So that's annoying, and to top it off, the last two order I had with them this spring (My Otome 0 Sifr & Summer Wars) were both canceled.

At this point I don't know if I'm going to get DVDs I order from them, or when, and I'm beginning to look around for other websites to buy from instead.

I'm not planning to buy anymore. I had a pre-order with them for 3-4 months and people who did not pre-order got their copies before me. I re-ordered and received it within four months. I ended up canceling the pre-order (hah!) and pretty much vowed not to buy from them again.

I'd definitely say DeepDiscount is severe buyer beware - you may wait several weeks to months to receive your order. They have become a joke. It's worth spending a few extra bucks at a more reputable locale.

Girl Who Leapt Through Time is four bucks cheaper than when I pre-ordered it from Right Stuf, but I view that four bucks as a guarantee that it'll be shipped properly and in a manner that doesn't take three weeks. Due to my most recent orders (quite a while ago, now) from DD, it'd have to be a jaw-droppingly amazing deal for me to use them ever again.

I haven't bought from them in awhile, but I'm shocked to read these past few posts on how bad the shipping times have been. Has anyone tried contacting them asking a reason for the delays? Is it low inventory issues? or just how bad shipping Media Mail is lately? or is it mainly selling all the other stuff not related to DVD's getting in the way somehow?

Never answered the eleven e-mails I sent them. I called them four times to cancel a single order and they said it was in prep-for-shipping mode so they could not. Turns out it takes two weeks to have an order register in their system and then ship out a single DVD and three weeks to receive it from USPS or you could spend the $7 and get it within a week. It's like the ones who pay for the shipping get priority over the customers that don't.

They aren't worth buying from anymore.

Looking @ my order history there. I had 9 anime orders last year with them. The last one was in late October. No shipping issues on my end on those. There were as fast as 3 business days (up to 5 days or so). Orders were shipped out fast enough for me. Back orders were fulfilled fairly fast (I believe within 1 week or so). I had to do multiple exchanges on the same Gundam release though due to nasty scratches on discs. For all I know, maybe things might have gotten worse since then.
