FUNimation Informs of Replication Error on Kaze no Stigma Complete Series Set
Posted on: Monday, December 13, 2010

FUNimation let us know that a replication error was made on a small print run of the Kaze no Stigma Complete DVD Series resulting in skipping on discs 1-3 and green blocking throughout some scenes. Only a limited number of Kaze no Stigma Complete DVD Series box sets have been affected, but if you have received a set with these issues, please contact our customer service department to exchange your faulty box set for a corrected edition.

Pending orders will be filled with the replacement sets as soon as they arrive from FUNimation.

Whoops.

Though these replication errors seem to be a persistent problem of late don't they?

On one hand, at least they tell us about it instead of us coming to them.

On the other hand...another replication problem? If this keeps up I'm going to stop pre-ordering their titles and just wait to see if there are problems with it from other people.

Hmmm...I have the complete set but it's still sitting in my "To Watch" pile, near the middle. Looks like it moves up to the top so I can check for these errors...

Funny. I have that problem (skipping or the player stops playing entirely) on most of my Funi DVDs. Most times I have to clean the discs with IPA and compressed air before they play at least continuously without skipping but often still with seek and spin noises of the player.

Why am I thinking that the replicator simply sucks?

Weird, none of my Funi discs have problems. I've actually never had a problem with any anime DVD I've bought.

People said Bandai at one point had random scratched up discs and still do but I've never had that problem either.

Maybe I'm just very lucky.

I'm in the same boat. I think mine's at the bottom of my stack. I should drag it out & check. But first I gotta find it.
