Post Bandai Unveils The Girl Who Leapt Through Space Trailer

With their recent announcements of the March and April DVD and Blu-ray slates, Bandai Entertainment has stepped up to show off their trailer for the April 26th release of The Girl Who Leapt Through Space, which sadly will be Japanese language with subtitles only. The show is set for a $29.99 price point for the 175 minute runtime listed for it...

Bandai are going to put people off the show with this talk of Ali Project opening and ending themes

I shall point out that the Ali Project OP is replaced with a far more genre appropriate Minami Kuribayashi number at the shows midpoint, and they only actually provided the ED for a single episode.

The ED for that episode (Kishi Otome) is actually non terrible. The OP Rara Eve Shinseki is, however quite bad. And completely inappropriate for the show, what were they thinking?

Worthwhile, if only for marketing purposes?

I get that there's a lot of anti-Ali Project sentiment out there (and I'm wholly on board with that), but do sales of their CDs correlate to that at all? Because if so...then how the hell do they keep getting work?!

I have no idea, honestly.

I really think that if a production committee gets the bright idea to hire ALI Project, they should instead get Yousei Teikoku, who not only produce much better songs, are probably way cheaper to hire!

My major bitch with this is the same as 95% of what Bandai releases-it's subbed only which is why I won't be buying it.

I laughed, but then I realized you expected to be taken seriously, which made me sad. Off-the-cuff statistics are fun.

I'm on board with that idea too.

Another thought: someone at Bandai apparently thinks Ali Project is a selling point. I wonder why? I mean, I would guess they're thinking name recognition, based on the number of shows licensed for R1 in which Ali Project has participated in some form, as I can't think of how they would have any data to suggest fan preferences either for or against Ali Project.

Oh well. More power to anyone who likes their music and intends to buy the show. It doesn't stop me from being interested, but it's still a shame.

The only real Ali Project song is "Coppelia no Hitsugi" from Noir!

Well, and the soundtrack to the various installments of MariMite, though that's just Mikiya Katakura flying solo.

Fun or not-it's the way I look at it-don't get me wrong, I've gotten subbed only stuff before but if Bandai only releases subbed only-except for fluff like K-On I ain't buying it. Like it or not I prefer dubbed anime and I know most anime buyers also feel that way.

SoraKake Girl and K-On are both fluffy. Just...different. But they are aimed at pretty much the same audience
