I have a question regarding First Press items, and HMV.

So, as the First Press Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyoto-Hen set is selling out at CDJapan (24 for the DVD, and 20 for the Blu-ray.), I was looking into HMV and First Presses through Google, and found this.

So basically, from this post, if the First Press edition is no longer available, they'll remove this stuff I have quoted at the very bottom?

I have yet to see what you asked for publisher based first pressed limited bonuses with HMV. But, I have seen HMV store bonuses crossed out when they run out.

I was basically wondering if like CDJapan, when the First Press runs out, they soon cross out the First Press bonuses or remove that part of the listing, indicating the First Press is sold out.

And, I've yet to see that happen - unless it did happen and HMV removed the "first press" stuff from the item description.

Default x10 points promotion on Vocaloid/Miku stuff

Interesting...

I noticed that HMV is offering x10 points for pretty much any vocaloid/Miku related item you can buy. Seems to be a secret promotion since it's not even listed under their current campaigns. It has to be because of the concerts that just happened.

I'd love to take advantage of this since there are a ton of CDs I can get, but I've spent enough already this month.

Good for someone though who is a vocaloid fan and wants to rack up points for future purchases.

Default Fluctuating discounts?

This has been bugging me for a while and I doubt anyone has an answer to this, but here it goes.

So, HMV likes to change their discount they give on anime DVD/BD during the course of a year. I've noticed, normally, most BD/DVD are discount 23% while Aniplex items have a 20% discount.

But, sometime late 2011 and now, March 2012, HMV has changed their discounts to 21% and 16-18% for Aniplex products. At some point, it'll revert back to the higher percentage.

WTF is going on here?

Default Current Promotion - x10 points on select BD and DVD

Until 6/27, HMV is running a x10 points bonus on select BDs and DVDs. There are a good selection of the first volume of spring 2012 show being released either this week or next week. There are also a few boxsets in the promotion too. LINK - for full set of items

Items of interest:
  • Nise monogatari volume 3 BD
  • Fate/Zero Box II
  • Hidamari Sketch BD Box
  • Hidamari Sektch 365 BD Box
  • Saki Side-A volume 1
  • Black Rock Shooter BD Box

Good time to cancel pre-orders and replace them to take advantage of the bonus if you can.

I'm sure this selection of items is completely coincidental and in no way intended to take advantage of the Amaplex clusterfuck!

Well it works of course, because I need Nise and Hidamari. Guess I need to place this order sooner rather than later. Sucks to have to wait two extra months for some of this (HMV S&H is too high to do monthly for small orders and HidaSketch365 isnt out until August) but oh well.

Edit: Oh lame, Nise 3 is included but not 4. Meh, I still need to order them together anyway.
Edit2: "Delivery Cost: ¥1,860" Lol... it was like ¥2040 for 1 box and 1 bd on a ¥1200 estimate, so for 2 boxes and 2 BDs I'm expecting to actually be almost double this estimate. I wish they'd give more realistic estimates.

Default Current promotions - HMV Coupons

Bah...still waiting on a x10 points for buying anime stuff, but this might be of interest to importers.

Quote:
500 Yen worth of L-PACA Coupon for orders between 5,000 Yen to 9,999 Yen
1,000 Yen worth of L-PACA Coupon for orders between 10,000 Yen to 19,999 Yen
3,000 Yen worth of L-PACA Coupon for orders over 20,000 Yen
Campaign ends July 3rd, Orders must be shipped by July 31st, coupon will be added 8/8 or 8/9 and expires on 8/31. LINK

The nice thing about coupons is that you get the coupon and whatever points you receive for the order. I love it when stuff stacks, too bad I won't be able to take advantage of this.

Yet, again, might be time to cancel and re-order stuff if you have anything that ships before July 31st to take advantage of this promo.

What the fuck's a L-PACA coupon? Oh, it expires after 30 days. Forget that.
