HOUSTON, TX — April 5, 2011 — From SHAFT (He is My Master, Pani Poni Dash) and director Shinbo Akiyuki (Hidamari Sketch, Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei) comes Maria Holic Alive, the continuation of Kanako and Mariya's hilariously perverse misadventures in Ame no Kisaki school for girls. Episode 1 premieres online this Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 10 pm Central Daylight Time.]

WHAT: US Debut of Maria Holic Alive on Anime Network Online
The craziness continues in Maria Holic Alive! Kanako and Mariya are back, and up to their old tricks once again at the Ame no Kisaki school for girls. With Kanako's penchant for breaking out in hive's when a boy is near and Mariya's sadistic nature (plus her love of torturing poor Kanako), there's no telling what kind of antics they'll get into! Don't forget Matsurika, the sharp-talking maid, who puts them both in their places every chance she gets. The nose bleeds will run wild, as silly, sexy fun collides with short-fused cross dressers and towering terrors in Maria Holic Alive!

WHEN: Sundays at 10 pm Central Daylight Time.

WHERE: Anime Network Online
Episode 1 - Guests
Episode 2 - Registered Users

Interesting. I guess this makes the first Shaft series since Natsu no Arashi (and sequel) to be simulcast, even though delayed by a few days. I don't think I ever watched past the first episode of the original though so not too interested. I'm not wanting to become a subscribing member of Anime Network either (might have not even bothered with Infinite Stratos if it was subscriber-only past the second episode).

Dance in the Vampire Bund was also simulcasted IIRC.

Oh duh... forgot about it. Wasn't FUNi late on it, though? I seem to remember BakaTest was from the same season and was like halfway through airing before FUNi announced it.

Yes, both were from the same season and both were late starts as you remembered. Also, they probably helped give fuel to the whole delayed cast joke, I think.
