Someone who accuses others of being impossible to please and blows off complaints about the release as being over "non-issues" is not allowed to play this card.

You don't think it's an issue? Lovely, amazing, wonderful. What does that have to do with anyone else? Nothing. If you don't care, don't post.
I understand that my comment was unwarranted, and I apologize, but I don't think the amount of malicious backlash ("get the fuck off the internet", telling us to shove our arguments) was warranted. It just seems like there's an imbalance of intent. Sure, I may be saying that some of you can't be pleased, but I never tried to devalue you.

On the other hand, it seems the ones who do complain about the releases are the ones who retaliate by calling our logic flawed, telling us to fuck off (or any other of its variations), or just try to belittle us because they feel that their logic or beliefs are superior in some way. Or at least that is how I'm taking most of your responses.

Rebuttals are fine. But the crude way in much many of you go about it is really unnecessary and doesn't get the point that you want to get across.

My "get the fuck off the internet" was in response to the following: "There really is no pleasing the anime fandom anymore. They will look for any excuse not support a show they enjoyed watching or think they will enjoy watching. They wanted NISA to fail and expected it. They didn't get the outcome they so desired so now they are nitpicking the heck out of some relatively non-issues. It's just disgusting."

Which is obviously belittling the complaints as mere excuses for piracy. I really don't feel my comment was unwarranted, especially with all the complaining about the complainers I've seen over the years. And I followed up with words that clearly explained why I feel the complaints are valid.

This frankly isn't the first time that people have been dissatisfied with something about an NISA release, and they've been pretty good about fixing some of their mistakes. If this issue is really something that a lot of people don't like, then they shouldn't need to hold back their complaints just because some people feel it isn't a problem and are "disgusted" about the complainers.

I tried not to reply to the post in question... come on now, we all know that the nebulous and almighty Anime Fandom has NEVER been pleased.

Besides, the internet's only good for so much. Voicing your displeasure at a company's decisions being one of the primary functions out there.

(...also porn. Lots of porn. But y'know, bitching, first and foremost.)

My mistake. I thought you were referring to my comment.

Now I'm not saying you're wrong and The Almighty Wiki is right. I'm just saying I'm glad I'm not the only one confused.
I searched for both 変体刀 刀語 and 変態刀 刀語 on Google and there were actually more for 変体刀, 9 million+ vs close to 6 million. Can't find excerpts from the Katanagatari light novels to settle it conclusively. On the other hand, if it is that, it would only weaken the case for the mysterious "true meaning" translation, since 変体 is pretty much only used to indicate abnormal, and not for perversion, metamorphosis, change, etc, that were used as justification.

Someone posted a few on the other forum. Looks like they might be marginally better than FUNimations, since at least these are bolder. But, ugh, they could stand to be at least twice as big, in my opinion.

Ouch, that is pretty small. The boldness looks nice though. I think I'm gonna pass on this series for now.

Thanks.

Always in that order. If you go for porn before bitching you might find yourself too relaxed to bitch.

I just checked out the DVDs to see the difference in picture quality and I noticed that the subtitles are big. They're as big as I make stuff when I remux it, which probably means they might come off as massive to most.

Seeing the huge SD subs and the micro BD dubs makes me think that someone didn't think to resize the font to compensate for difference in image resolution between a 1080p image and a 480p one. Maybe it was purposeful though...

On that note, how much better was the BD picture quality over DVD?
