I don't know a lot about it, but from what I've read a few times in the past, it's a lot harder to do retailer returns in Japan.

Oh they're doing that weird thing where they sell at a lower price through the marketplace as themselves and list a third party seller as the default... odd. I guess it's because the third party seller has it in stock.

Though why Amazon would offer 75% discounts on something they're sold out of internally is beyond me. Made a deal with Kadokawa or another retailer to liquidate excess, perhaps?

Yeah, beats me. I just went on to Amazon.com to buy the Apocalypse Now: Full Disclosure Blu-ray set and the "main listing" or whatever is from a third party but fulfilled by Amazon at $20.08. If you browse the marketplace section there's an original Amazon listing for $20.28. Maybe the third party pays an extra fee or some shit to be the "main listing". There must be some extra stuff for those third-party but fulfilled by Amazon things.
