I don't really understand how any of this was possible without licensing these anime movies first.
Like if you have brand new HD masters for all of these movies and aren't allowed to release them then... How has this person been acquiring these masters? |

I can't decipher if what he means by this specific paragraph is, if we want Japanese audio we'll find a way or they're including it on the possible DVD's. Quote:

So updates at last huh?
Hope it actually says "Raoh" though.... (should be "Rei" too but since Rei and Ray sound similar I'll let that one go) Assuming the dub isn't that bad I might buy these Fist of the North Star compilation movies (when available). Still waiting for Sentai Filmworks to license The Legends of the True Savior movie saga... ![]() I bought Collection 1 of the TV series but won't buy the rest since I don't buy sub-only DVDs. (If anyone cares I have watched the rest of the series subbed online so you can't say I'm missing out )

For a second there, I thought we were getting the fairy tale shows that were shown on Nickelodeon's "Special Delivery" in the late 80's.
Any chance any of these fine movies will end up in Syndication? I'd watch one if it were on late night or Sunday afternoon. Purchasing? Naw, this ain't my cup of tea. Quote:

Seriously, Toei? Are you guys that naive, or is there some weird masochistic plan to continue bleeding money here in North America?
You just can't sell 30 year old animation to mainstream America, and Toei should have known this. It isn't 1988 anymore. The only sales you MIGHT get are from old-school fanatics of Matsumoto or Hokuto no Ken who will be picking these up based solely on the hilarity hiding within. Heck, that might be the first "ironic" purchase I'd fully support people making.

I really do not understand exactly what is happening, but I think that it is encouraging that somebody is considering releasing some old anime to the R1 market. I do wish them luck but I will not be supporting them financially because these shows are just not my type.
I am not one of those who thinks that they must be stupid for not releasing what I want. These are just not the kind of shows that I like. If anybody did this with some old magical girl shows, like the Studio Pierrot catalog, I would be all over it. Like that would ever happen. ![]()
