So, this week we get back to Kurapika and the mole man as well. Kurapika only thinks about vengeance...

This has to be the most epic setup ever. I can't even imagine the payoff living up to it, but there's also no way it won't be an absolute thrill-ride. Hunter x Hunter has certainly proven itself before when it's presented some big goals. Up until now, Hisoka has pretty much been the top of the food chain, but now we're introduced to a whole group of his equals, thirteen in all. And I could just about feel the awesomeness emanating from that one guy in the OP and ED, so it makes perfect sense that he's the leader of this group, presumably making him the biggest threat in the series yet.

On Kurapika's side, his employer was the main bodyguard for the boss, who turns out to be a little girl with some useful Nen powers. But as it turns out, she's not the real boss either; her father is, so he's sure to be a big deal in a different way.

Gon and Killua continue to find out more about Greed Island. I really never pictured this show dealing with technology in any real capacity, much less drawing the characters into computers or video games and stuff like that. It's extra interesting to see what technology they decide to update for this version of the story. The video tapes got turned into DVDs, but here they are with a very outdated OS. God integrating this stuff with Nen is fucking stupid.

Next time, it all begins! I assume! The main four will all be in it once again, anyway!

Now begins the main event. The reason why Hunter X Hunter is probably the best Shonen Jump series ever.

Gon & Killua learned interesting info about Greed Island.
So basically you enter the game and can't get out if you don't find a save point.
That's sure one dangerous game, but not unexpected since it was made for Nen users.
Kurapika & few others managed to get hired finally. First mission: protect the boss.
Wtf, the boss is a cute girl called Neon?! No way! Her dad is the one Kurapika is after, probably.

Yeah, I don't remember if you're supposed to know this yet, but as I recall there's a special item you have to get in the game that allows you to save your progress and leave Greed Island. Players too weak to acquire the item often give up trying to escape the game and simply resolve to go on living their lives inside the game world.

- And they lost about 99% of their money. You boys suck at this.
- So the Boss Kurapika is working for is... a young girl. Did not remember that at all, though I'm guessing she's not really the boss either. Also, Ueda Kana!
- Oh hey. The Spiders.
- And now meet the mightiest Spider - Rider!

- Neon wears huge shoes.
- Okay yeah, Neon is just the daughter of the real Boss.
- Shalnark is so darn happy all the time.
- Spider Chief is so creepy.
- And shit is gonna go down next time. I should have just waited two hours for ep 42 before watching this.

Episode 42:

- Hey, remember that Leorio guy? ...Yeah me neither.
- Of course he hasn't learned Nen.
- "Yo dad, I'll go ill 15 people; loan me a few bil?" >_>
- I'm finding that... ...I don't really welcome Leorio back. He's comedic relief, but I'm not sure we really need much of that. And that's really all he is at this point.

- Huh. Gon is actually a half-competent actor. I figured he would just misjudge his strength and smash the first guy.
- Ahahaah, the look on Gon's face is amusing.
- A challenger appears! Shizuku!
- She's so cute... and wasn't using her dominant arm. Watch out, Gon.

- Kurapika has a nice heart-to-heart with molewoman. Nice and nearly ending in bloodshed.
- And it's about to begin! ...next week.

No action yet. Damn.

Okay, still just setup. Very good setup, though.

Leorio finally returns, and we don't see any of his solo action before he joins back up with Gon and Killua. So he hasn't learned all there is to know about Nen after all. Looks like Wing overestimated him when he said both of their friends had already mastered it. Does that mean he's not a real Hunter yet?

Something tells me they weren't using Wikipedia in the 90s versions of the story.

Milluki is quite the hikikomori.

Leorio at his best. Using Gon's strength to make money. Gon has a little confrontation with one of the new enemies, but still wins. But he apparently probably wouldn't have if she were using her stronger hand.

Some Kurapika time as well. Melody is a lot more likeable than I expected a creepy little mole man girl thing to be. Her ability to read Kurapika and the way she uses it is just another thing that makes me have to remind myself which one is the protagonist.

Next time looks like the real start of the action.
