That box in the corner got me hopeful for a second, but it looks like it's a case to hold your Victory Spark game cards.
You do know there is a second season coming, right?
What is the box for? Holding all the BD's?

He's referring to being hopeful for an artbox, not a second season.

Yes, as MelancholicMariya said, I meant I saw the box in the corner and was hoping that it would be a box to hold all the BDs. Instead, it's a box to hold the Victory Spark game cards, and not the BDs.

And for people who were wondering about the prices.... it can be yours for a mere 20,000 yen (as of this post). ... And instead of laughing my ass off at the idea of paying that, I'm considering whether or not I can afford it. -_-;

Same here. Too bad these things sometimes go for crazy prices. Blah...might wait a while to pick this one up.

You know, I think that's the trick to getting your anime cheap. Pay MSRP at a specialty store with an exclusive extra, sell the extra at a ludicrously inflated price, and BAM you just bought all of Haganai for about 50% off. (Okay it would only work in rare circumstances. And who the hell would part with that box unless they hated both Sena and Yozora? Actually who would buy Haganai if they hated them?)

But what the hell that box is amazing. How exactly does Gamers and the like land these extras? I assume they front the cost of producing the box since they're the ones who will reap the rewards, but where's the benefit for Aniplex et al? Is Gamers a member of the production committee? Though I would think Aniplex prefers stores that sell at MSRP because they're surely paying a higher wholesale than Amazon or HMV.

Desirability of retailer-exclusive extras also seems to vary significantly from store to store so that calculation has to be baked in somewhere. It's like, who wants to be the store that has the exclusive Nodoka poster when the store down the street from you in Akiba is offering an Azunyan poster? (I love and adore you Nodoka but let's not kid ourselves on who is the more popular K-ON! girl.)
