Nice cover. A very different style from the original release, but fits better with the new season 2 LE, which is obviously the point. I already have the original release on Blu-ray. Hopefully TRSI's gift will be the same one as the season 2 LE, so I don't miss out on a bonus item for getting the original release.

I feel sorry for those buying this who only has a DVD player because the DVDs are missing 4 of the 7 OVA episodes while the BDs has them all.

I actually enjoy this cover art, but I think I enjoy the previous release more.

I can see how some people may not like this, but Funi are just trying to cater to the subset of fans who were whinging by keeping the case BD sized whilst also keeping the size of the package DVD sized for the B&M stores.
Although it'd be interesting to see how structurally strong these slipcovers are. |

It's a decent plan they've come up with which will hopefully satisfy both sides. IMO it might be better if the inner support (or whatever it's called) were placed at the top where the blue BD baner is instead of the bottom. There'd be less worry over the structure not being strong enough whilst still giving it the right height.
I am a bit worried about how these new slipcases would fare from being shipped overseas now though. |
