This whole situation is just so weird.

I can sorta get why Tiger&Bunny had distribution issues, but Horizon? Seriously? What the hell is up with Bandai?
Actually, I can understand Horizon's problems. Horizon had a pretty stable run in sales and seemed on track to do about 15-16k tops, then sales exploded out of nowhere after the 13th episode. It was a bit unprecedented for sales to boost that much after the vol went on sale and just off of one episode.

Full list is out, and the following was added. Original post has been updated accordingly.

2012 01/16~01/22 BD List
-- (27) 11 **,906 *28,343 *5 Bakemonogatari BD Box
-- (30) 20 **,816 112,478 *8 Kidou Senshi Gundam UC v4
-- (31) -- **,807 ***,807 *1 Ai no Kusabi (remake 2012)
-- (36) -- **,552 ***,552 *1 Denpa-teki na Kanojo
-- (41) -- **,513 ***,513 *1 Berserk BD Box
-- (46) 25 **,424 *22,853 *5 Persona 4 v2
50 (*,395)

Fall update:
Persona 4 v2 gets a 5th week, adding 424 for a total of 30,195. 30k mark hit.

OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
Berserk BD box sells only 513. I'm not sure that bodes well for the upcoming movies. How much of Berserk fandom in Japan is still interested in the anime?

Bakemonogatari is still chugging along, up 906 in wk5, total 28,343.

¥1356.6m (34,000 * ¥39,900) - Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu
¥*867.1m (21,682 * ¥39,900) - Toradora!
¥*833.3m (28,343 * ¥29,400) - Bakemonogatari
¥*456.7m (12,427 * ¥36,750) - Strike Witches (7,011 + 5,416)

Oh, there's also stuff from the DVD 500 and BD 200 for 2011 that got added to the livedoor thread; about time! I'll go through that and the December monthly rankings tonight.

Ouch. That's depressing to see.

I certainly wasn't expecting it to sell, say, 5k+ (though I was really hoping it would shock me and do so and convince whoever mattered to make a third episode) but I wasn't expecting it to to this horribly.

Denpa-teki is now the worst selling show I've purchased, beating out Hourou Musuko. Granted, that was an initial release and had DVD sales added in, but still.

So Bakemonogatari will probably reach the 30,000 line! Awesome!

On the bright side, at least you know how poorly it sold. I've bought a couple that never ranked in any week.

Default 2011 Top 500 DVD/200 BD

http://jbbs.livedoor.jp/bbs/read.cgi...1293278942/278

Additional information from the full 2011 Top 500 DVDs and Top 200 BDs list has been posted.

Note that all numbers below supersede prior adjustments. For example, OreImo v7 BD was already +373 BDs courtesy of the monthly rankings as reported by Newtype. When I say it's +602 below, that means it added an additional 229 in the yearly adjustment after the monthly adjustment. This is because I have only one "adjustment" column in my spreadsheet, and it would be overkill to break it out by reporting source. But it's really the total that matters anyway.

Ore no Imouto:
v6 +175 BDs, total 22,012
v7 +602 BDs, total 23,444
Final average: 23,888

Steins;Gate:
v2 +824 BDs, total 17,646
v3 +1110 BDs, total 16,965
v4 +137 BDs, total 16,800

Working!!
' v1 +950 BDs, total 20,011 - Hey, it topped 20k after all.
S1 BD Box +704 BDs, total 9,220

Natsume Yuujinchou BD box +1944 BDs, total 11,739 - puts it in #5 behind Strike Witches.

Strike Witches 2 v4 +776 BDs, total 13,269. Final average: 14,015

Ao no Exorcist
v1 +596 BDs, total 23,267
v2 +736 DVDs, total 17,027

Gintama' v4 +253 DVDs, total 14,049

Madoka Magica v2 +317 DVDs, total 74,887.
Final average: 71,057

Default December Monthly Ranking

http://jbbs.livedoor.jp/bbs/read.cgi...1293278942/277

December monthly list, additions below.

AoEx v7 +1573 DVDs, total 8,666.

Yuru Yuri v4 +440 BDs, total 7,374. Oh good I was hoping it'd make it. So from v2 onward it's very consistent, 7910 > 7402 > 7374. v5 is 6,712 but hasn't gotten a monthly adjustment yet. should get to about 7.1k.

Natsume San v5 +363 BDs, total 10,051. Final average: 10,224. Speaking of consistent... the first three seasons have final averages all within 100 copies.

Denpa Onna v6 +453 BDs, total 6,135.

Roukyuubu v4 +589 BDs, total 6,552.

Tamayura v1 +381 BDs, total 5,458 (includes 1k DVD estimate).

Tiger&Bunny v7 +372 BDs, total 26,380.

This may be rare for every seasons of a series (*cross fingers* for the current one) to be that consistent... I mean, is it not more frequent for a series to drop sales season after season?

Notes
- This list is sorted by total sales in units of ¥1 million, minimum ¥100m.
- This is primarily BD boxes from 2009 onward, with a few exceptions. BD sales data was not disclosed before late 2009, therefore anything before then cannot be counted unless it made the 2009 Yearly BD Rankings.
- Only re-releases are included, so Fate/Zero would not be listed here.
- This list is probably not complete; I had not been tracking this in detail before so I compiled it somewhat quickly.
- Multi-volume releases are tallied together for a total.
- There are multiple ways a list like this could be done but total sales in yen is what I've traditionally done. Straight unit sales would be another way, though you'd probably want to average sales for multi-volume series rather than sum them in that case.
- Eureka Seven is in all likelihood much, much higher, probably ahead of Natsume Yuujin-chou. The first boxset did not make the 2009 Yearly BD Rankings, which had a threshold of 5,785. Assuming it sold at least 5,000 units (a conservative estimate) would put the total well over ¥400m.

Yes, dropping is much more common, and if a show does go up it's usually a rare case of a major increase between seasons, e.g. Hidamari 1-2 or Nanoha 1-2 and 2-3.

I'd go so far as to say Natsume has the second most impressive example of consistency across three or more seasons at a high sales level ever, behind only the first three seasons of Gintama (15,448 > 15,172 > 15,282, a slightly larger spread but at higher sales and over a vastly larger number of episodes and volumes).
