Thanks to that release, I was able to own the show. Can't wait to own the second season now. I hope it will sell well.

I'm a little surprised at the lack of Nichijou's Director's Cut DVD-Box. Wonder how it would've done targetted towards the otaku crowd via BDs.

Looks like it did about 560 or so.

Figures. Kadokawa's just not having any luck at all lately outside Strike Witches.

-- (49) -- *,849 **,849 *1 Moyashimon Returns v4
-- (50) (*,828)

-- (42) -- *,991 **,991 *1 Milky Holmes in Budoukan

Wow, Amazon had Majo no Takkyuubin BD estimated at over 18k.
Starting to see the holiday effect I think. Gonna get ugly from here on out.

Fall update:
Ixion DT v1 sells 1005/754, total 1,759. Stalker overestimated DVDs and underestimated BDs, which i interesting. BD and DVD came with a weapon you can use in the original game. Think Sengoku Collection and its game cards.

K v3 sells 2968/1243, total 4,211. Better than v2 wk1, though still pretty moderately below v1.

Summer update:
Tari Tari v4 sells 7,074 BDs, DVDs do not rank.

Oda Nobuna v4 sells 3514/757, total 4,271.

Moyashimon v4 sells 849/724, total 1,573.

Sword Art Online v2 adds 997 BDs, total 36,495.

Hakuouki v3 adds 723 DVDs, total 6,122.

Past seasons:
Hyouka v6 adds 1082 BDs, total 9,419. That wk2 is in line with the lower v1wk2 (1,062) and v2wk2 (1,032), which basically offsets the higher wk1 and brings it to the same as v3-v5 for wk2 BD total. However v4 and v5 got 300-350 DVDs in wk2 thanks to lower thresholds. All that to say, v6 won't officially hit 10k because it's missing those 300 DVDs which will likely make it fall just short after it adds another 400 BDs in the monthly list and gets to about 9.8k.

OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
Berserk second movie sells 4977/1223, total 6,200. I wonder if this is quite what they had in mind when they announced a decade long movie revival project.

No new v1s next week. The week after that the flood begins: Chuunibyou, Gintama, GirlPan, Darkness, Psycho-Pass, Jormungand PO, Hayate, Initial D, and Code:Breaker. Thresholds will be murderous, so a number of those might not rank at all. Most likely the last three.

Saw that on 2ch. Then back to normal for the 12/31~01/06 list coming out on Tuesday, 01/08.

Let me know if I'm reading that wrong.

Default Rental rankings (Tsutaya, 2012)

http://www.ccc.co.jp/company/news/20...10_003517.html via CR

Tsutaya has posted their top 20 rental rankings in the animation category this year. For anime:

01. Kokurikozaka Kara
06. Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa
08. Momo e no Tegami
09. K-ON! Movie (45,000 rental copies sold total)
10. Meitantei Conan: 11-ninme no Striker
12. Crayon Shin-chan: Arashi wo Yobu! Ora to Uchuu no Princess
13. Fullmetal Alchemist: Milos no Seinaru Hoshi
14. Naruto Shippuuden: Blood Prison
16. Doraemon: Nobita to Kiseki no Shima - Animal Adventure
17. Cat Shit One -The Animated Series-
19. Berserk Ougonjidai-hen I: Haou no Tamago
20. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Too bad we don't know how many newly purchased rental copies that comes to, although we do have that K-ON! number to provide some context. You can also see how well some family titles ranked compared to their lower DVD/BD sales. That K-ON! ranking is really phenomenal though.

For something that came out almost two years ago, I'm impressed. Hmm... There was only the one episode, right? ^^;
