You can check the website of the BBFC.

This is what they wrote:

Company was required to remove a shot likely to encourage an interest in underage sexual activity (in this case a young girl in the background of a shot suggesting sexual activity). Cut made in accordance with BBFC Guidelines, policy and the Video Recordings Act 1984.

they were probably rated differently.

CG seems more like after school show for kids/teens.

Mardock is mature audiences only.

The UK is pretty terrible when it comes to anime. Paranoia Agent was cut due to a child committing suicide, too. It doesn't really make any sense.

Though if their line of thinking was that Code Geass just "looked" like an after school show for children then they should've considered the rest of the series before cutting it. The ratings are there for a reason, if it's not for children it'll be marked on the box as 15 or something like that. You can't just make assumptions.

Amusing for the fact being partially naked does not "suggest" anything, it is simply being partially naked. The foreground action, certainly "suggests" something, but the girl in question is simply standing there covering herself.

And if someone can get their pedophilic suggestion from 1 second of material, then they are awfully fast. It shows just how obsessed classification boards are with sexual things though. Like just look at all the violence they had in this show in terms of forced suicide etc. But not a peep for that.

Of all the unethical things that happen in Code Geass THIS is the thing they cut? I wasn't planning to, but now i'm definitely not getting this release. I don't condone censorship, especially with anime! (UK Paranoia Agent, anyone?)

Here's hoping Funimation will pick it up at some point. In the meantime i'm sticking with my Bandai DVD's, which still look great upscaled by the way!
