Default A Certain Magical Index

via TRSI...

- "...if Index and Railgun are going to be on Blu-ray?"

- "Probably eventually..." It's just that some of the stuff (some of the titles) won't perform (just won't sell) on Blu-ray. We put out Samurai 7...sold great. We put out Heroic Age...sold great. We put Ouran...bombed on Blu-ray.

I figured to create a separate thread for this. Quick note: the R1 DVD prefix tag is just referring to the North American license (since home video info hasn't been revealed yet).

Here is what's known so far for the A Certain Magical Index license...
The series webpage also lists the copyright:
Quote:
© KAZUMA KAMACHI/ASCII MEDIA WORKS/PROJECT-INDEX © KAZUMA KAMACHI / ASCII MEDIA WORKS / PROJECT- INDEX Ⅱ. Licensed by FUNimation® Productions, Ltd. All Rights Reserved.
If the copyright is 100% accurate, it means that FUNimation also have INDEX II. EDIT in regards to the copyright: via FUNimation Facebook page...
Quote:
Actually, both seasons of Index are under the same copyright. That's why the copyright looks like that on the page. We don't have season 2.

It remains to be seen when the series will be solicited/released. I guess with the little information that's revealed today, it's a tiny step to the right direction.

I've already said this in the other thread, but this is too weird

I'm glad something's finally happening with it but still

for some reason it just feels completely out of place

Its good to know the series is at least happening now. I was afraid it was stuck down the pipe.

Oh god, Funi! Put someone who can read Japanese on your marketing staff. You seriously put the title of the radio show as the Japanese title. I can't help but laugh at the ineptitude for this title.

Glad to finally see progress on this license; perhaps we'll actually get Index before the year is up? Well, maybe not...

And it's as ultimatemegax said, that is some poor quality-checking by the FUNi team. Come on, guys!

When I saw the pink logo I instantly knew something was wrong.

Well, if they have masters now, I'm pretty sure they can get it dubbed and out the door by the end of the year.

As for Index II, I may not be alone in this but I have a strong feeling that is the property they meant to announce with their 500,000 Facebook friends challenge.

This is great news and a strong indication that the whole merger deal that held up these titles is now finished and that Funi now has the source material to work with. I had a feeling this was going to happen once the Hellsing Ultimate panel was listed. It's about time already.
