Episode 39:

- Realy enjoyed the new astronaut orientation. Nasuda really did nail it, and I got excited just like Mutta.
- About two years before they're official astronauts. I expect a time skip soon.
- Driving on the moon looks like a pain in the ass.
- ...Worst lecturer ever.
- And then they go over a cliff anyway.

I loved the new OP animation, although I was less thrilled by the song.

That was great, and then it got erased (to his horror). He should have taken a picture. ^^; Watching Serika behind the reporter was cute, too. ^^

I kinda wish that they'd come up with a better cliff-hanger. Besides having good maps of the moon available to plan a route, to have that guy drive off a crater rim after almost doing it earlier was stretching things a bit too far. ;_;

Oh well. Bring on #40!

Yep that was pretty dumb. You think they'd be trained for this kind of thing.

Default Episode 40

This is possibly the least realistic thing in this entire story, but once you accept that setup and become immersed in the situation it's created, it also becomes the most gripping emotional drama in the story. Wow. I can't even imagine what will happen now. I'm sure it will all work out somehow, but this is definitely serious stuff.

I'm having problems getting too involved/immersed because of the silliness and stupidity that the writers used to get them there, unfortunately. Seeing the tear in some part (later revealed) of Hibito's suit also made obvious some of what were going to see in the near future.

It's drama that feels too forced, although if they were going to get drama at that level, it was probably going to have to be forced to some degree. <sigh>

I am really getting sick of the panhandling for, and posting of, "guest passes" in the comments section on CR's episode pages. Before I wrote something, the _only_ comments for this episode were such. ;_; Yeah, there's always too many of 'em scattered around, but that caused me to rant (which was promptly voted down into hiding by others). ^^;;

That little fall on the moon was nerve wrecking.
Back story about Hibito was nice to watch though.
Hibito was lucky that he wasn't injured.
He also managed to find Gibson. Hibito got lucky with that one.
Looks like Damian was not as lucky.
Very intense episode.

Episode 40:

That felt like an oddly long episode, but it was also hands down one of the best episodes so far. The events that got them into this mess were dumb, but the handling once they were there was spectacular. The highlight of the episode has to be at first when Hibito was alone, and scared, and in a world hovering between total darkness and bright lights. The music was fantastic, the slow movement was fantastic, the visuals were fantastic.

Those frequent cuts to damage in Hibito's suit obviously weren't going to be for show. So what did he lose? Maybe his oxygen, which I guess will ave some automatic cutoff mechanism, meaning it just cuts his remaining time down - probably to 5 or 6 hours.

Also good about this episode - not showing anyone outside the moon except the non-NASA/JAXA staff (and a flashback). It's too early to be getting into reactions from family members, even Mutta.

It does make me wonder how compartmentalized the oxygen system is in the space suits, and if it is subdivided, how the suit handles things (and how like the space suits of today the suits in the show are, since the rocket technology doesn't seem to have advanced beyond what's currently in planning [That's no surprise since the series doesn't take place all that far ahead of our time. Was it 20-25 years, or the 2020-25 period?]; I don't know what's on the drawing board for space suits, although I hear a bit now and then about the rockets and capsules).

Wiki says it starts in 2025. So yeah it's realistic that the technology hasn't advanced all that much.

The cause of the situation was a bit contrived, and I found the end of the episode a bit contrived. The middle was actually pretty good though.
