Default Episode 41

So this is all increasingly more intense and dire, but the more the odds seem impossible to overcome, and the more exact the specifics of the situation have to be in order to survive, the more I think that there's absolutely no chance of any outcome except managing to get out of this alive by the closest margin possible.

Well, the two astronauts riding to the rescue are still going in the wrong direction, but the oxygen generator that's heading to the crevasse will presumably be Hibiki's saviour. Will it be redirected shortly? Something else? Mutta knows what he's talking about. ^^ It's still hard to avoid thinking about the stupid writing that got the two in this situation, but I thought that this is a very good episode.

OMG! This was the most nerve racking episode ever!
Hibito and Damian just can't catch a break.
Those two were going through really tough times.
Hibito was very impressive and was giving it his all.

Episode 41:

- Ah, a backup tank and a main tank. That would explain how he has some left.
- Also stuff!

Not much to say, but good episode. The best part is how Mutta was handled. After not involving him for nearly two episodes, his entrance is very subdued, and he gets to work immediately. No theatrics. Very nice.

- In around 2 years, they will officially be astronauts.
- I’ll watch you Mutta, catching up Hibito in no time.
- I was wondering, the mountain looks not that far for a 50 minutes ride, but they explained it, nice.
- That was close…
- How could that lecturer like that get a job at JAXA?
- Oops… this time they didn’t even brake before going over the cliff…

Default Episode 42

We really didn't need a recap of the past few episodes. But I guess they want to drag this out as much as possible. Next time we have to see how it all turns out, right? This is like waiting to find out who passed the second exam, but the stakes are much higher, and while it's still probably safe to assume the most likely outcome will occur, there's not quite as much certainty for the fate of the star this time as for the star back then.

Tough times for Hibito and Damian.
Mutta's hunch was right on. Good for him.
Flashback to childhood was nice.
Hibito's quick thinking and cool head may have saved the day!
Guess we'll see next time.

Default Episode 43

And we almost didn't get to find out what happened until the next episode after all! I was definitely worried that it might be the case near the end there. Obviously this was all operating on super Dragon Ball Z time, but it was all really amazing. Even given that, I'm not sure how realistic it is, but using the trope of waiting until the last possible second definitely made for the maximum emotional tension, especially given how slowly they dragged it all out. And of course the perception of time is going to seem a little different when you're waiting for your own death. And I honestly wasn't so sure he was going to survive at times. Definitely a really powerful little arc we had here.
