This is under the volume 5 subthread. Putting comments to v4 underneath its subthread would help keep the thread better organized.

It's release date and Amazon sold out of the amount they pre-ordered (good thing!). They'll get some in over the weekend from Kadokawa's distributors. No need to worry/panic. This isn't Bandai/Geneon.

Aw yeah, sorry, didn't notice that. Guess I'll wait it out then. Was planning on making my Tari Tari vol. 2 combined order now, but I'll live. Is it likely to be available early next week or was it just a wild-ish guess?

It's a rather accurate estimation. Hyouka has never been out of stock for a long period of time. When vol. 3 went out of stock it was back in stock within about a week.

The listing for volume 6 went up earlier this week and Amazon has put up the cover art. The BD cover art features Irisu, Eru, and the titular character in the Eng version of this arc while the LE DVD features the two male members of the kotenbu. The RE DVD has not been revealed yet, but who buys those anyways?

Included with this volume is the usual 16 pg booklet, 2 postcards, and the drama/OST/radio CD Kadokawa loves. On the disc itself is more location scouting, OP/ED recording, and OST recording. It also includes audio commentary from Supervisor Takemoto and Series Composer Gatou.

Edit: Kadokawa added a Kanya Fest bookmark to the listing.

Can't believe it took me six volumes to identify the blindingly obvious pattern.

Every BD: all-female, or predominantly female.
Every DVD: all-male, or predominantly male.

And as we know, guys by BDs (overwhelmingly) and the ladies buy DVDs (often, far more often than males anyway). I certainly expect a show like Hyouka to have gender crossover appeal, albeit more muted in its purchasers than its viewers. I wonder how many of those ~1.1k DVDs each volume sells are going to female consumers?
