New series [not sure if SJA or physical] will be announced "in the next few days"

Hopefully is also physical. I don't know any digital only from them nor do I want it. What a joke of a panel, just shows the state of the industry in general(reminds me of the E3 of this year.

Amazon uk leaked lots of stuff in the past... like games coming to the west and stuff. Kodansha comics normally get in there earlier also.

Not from what I've heard, unfortunately. For whatever reason, solicitations sometimes pop up VERY early on Amazon UK, and then filter over to Amazon Japan, and then finally onto Amazon (US).

Well, they just started Barrage, Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration and Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal (which hasn't gone up yet, I think). No official plans have been announced for a physical release of any of those series, so it's really a guessing game at this point. The digital future is an uncertain and mysterious enigma.

This is true. When I sat in for one of Viz's panels this year, it was... pretty bad. Most of the focus was on digital, with only a tiny portion even mentioned physical goods. I know digital is big now, but they can't forget about marketing to physical buyers too.

Well, there's still Otakon. Hopefully they are just saving for then...

They are not collected in volumes so we still don't know. I'm sure yu-gi-oh! and RK will both be released in physical format (they are big). Barrage I'm not so sure, is doing poorly in wsj polls so it can be canceled before a decision is made.

Unfortunately, they still have 55 meetings before they can announce the Evangelion omnibus.

Forgot to update, but the panel for Shonen Jump Alpha is almost over. Not a whole lot, but here's the brief run-down:

  • SJ Alpha will premiere the new series, Takama-ga-hara from Kawai Juuzo (starting July 23)
  • Blue Exorcist coming to SJ Alpha starting July 30
  • Blue Exorcist will start with 2 chapter/issue until it catches up in August (not starting at Ch.1)
  • After Blue Exorcist it caught up, it will appear once/month since it is a monthly series
  • Ohba-sensei (Death Note, Bakuman): in story meetings, he would always propose something out of the ordinary.
  • How did you decide to do a manga about your own department in Bakuman? Ohba thought of the idea while doing Death Note
  • At first the editor was afraid that Bakuman would be a gossipy, dishy behind-the-scenes about the industry
  • After Bakuman, many junior and high schoolers started to propose manga to SJ. More encouragement than discouragement
  • Hopefully, soon, there will be a global, simultaneous release of everything. But print should not die (AMEN TO THAT!)
  • Why so many romantic comedies as of late in SJ? Its what the readers want.

I have some questions
Why does Viz Media not want to licnese the manga to Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro?
Why do manga comapnies not license manga based on bishoujo games?
Was reborn and Ultra Maniac censored?

They really should license Neuro's manga.

Nobody wants the anime.
