[UK] Berserk movie trilogy

- Kaze UK will start releasing these films from December 31st.
- First movie will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray, working towards a Collectors Edition as well.
- The first film will also get theatrical screenings in October (read: At Scotland Loves Anime!).
- Viz Media are probably trying to assemble a dub cast around the original TV anime dub, no official word on this yet however.
- These movies are effectively a reboot of the franchise which follows the manga, so should appeal to new viewers.
- The US cast from the TV series seem keen to reprise their roles for the dub of these movies.

I never got around to seeing any of these 3 films, only the original anime TV series. Are they worth watching?

Only one film is released so far in Japan. And yes, they're worth watching if you like Berserk.

Unless if you find loads of mediocre 3DCG people flailing about rather hideous, in which case you should avoid it like the plague.

Why doesn't anybody get this? Yeah the CG is pretty bad, but it's not the whole movie. This movie has lots of very high quality 2D sword fighting animation as well. The CG is mostly just for the huge scale war scenes (which unfortunately are about half the fight scenes). The CG in general doesn't look very good, but if you've seen King of Thorn you should be kinda used to it already. It also allows them to do insane things with the cinematography that would be very hard to do without the use of CG. I'd still prefer if the entire movie were traditionally animated, but don't go thinking that the whole movie looks horrible or even that all the fights are horrible.
