Flower Mound, TX –JUNE 30, 2012- FUNimation Entertainment announced today at Anime Expo they have acquired the broadcast, home entertainment, streaming, and mobile rights to the complete anime series, Aria the Scarlet Ammo. The series is directed by Takashi Watanabe, best known for directing Ikki Tousen, Shakugan no Shana, and Slayers Revolution.

Series synopsis:
Kinji is a junior at a high school for mercenaries. He just wants to be normal, but his secret condition—he turns into an ace killer when he’s turned on by the female form—triggers a fiery transfer student’s unrelenting desire to make him her partner. For me, it was not good enough to buy it. I'll pass on this one.

On the fence about this one. I don't think I'll be sure whether or not I'll be getting it until right up to the release date.

I haven't seen any of it (or know anything at all about it), so I won't be considering it for purchase. If I ever get around to watching it stream, then I might consider it.

Going through aquastar831's video feed once more, I completely missed a key information the first time around.

• This is what I remembered - Adam Zaner (licensing VP @ FUNi) noted the series as "not too far in the distance."
• This is what I missed - And then a female voice (probably Char) noted "this fall."

So it looks like the series could be released this year. I guess they have been keeping the additional information to this series for some reason.

That was quick, but since they probably got the full rights long ago and only just revealed them now for some reason, it makes sense. Still not sure if I'll get it.

They probably prefer having people asking: "When will you have the home video rights for X title" over "When X title will be released". We know what is the reputation of FUNimation, so maybe they think it will feel less "slow" by doing it that way.
