Looks like they've decided it's about time to move some units. All the fanservice + all the censorship = all the extra sales. That's presumably the hope, anyway. Good luck with that. Next episode, we don't even get a normal episode, instead some kind of recap + exposition supplement, with a preview of the new opening and ending. So that will start in episode 21 of a two-cour show? What the hell is with this show?

The power struggle between Eishi groups became a nuisance.
It's no wonder they had to reassign some of the groups.
Well, it looked more like a camping trip.
When they found that hot spring it just screamed fan service.
Seriously, where is this anime going?!

Default Episode 20

So this is not actually episode 20, but a special episode 2.
It explains everything that happened so far.
That includes Betas and technology used to fight them.
Basically it's a summary.
So nothing new this week until Nov 25 when episode 20 is aired.

I guess this is... kind of episode 20? It certainly wasn't an episode, but these kinds of things can sometimes be counted as such anyway. What it was seemed to me like some kind of desperate attempt to tell us how much we love this show, and how excited we should be for the CLIMAX, starting NEXT EPISODE, which we will enjoy TEN TIMES MORE thanks to this incredibly dry clip show. Plus, they're having a NEW OPENING AND ENDING for these CLIMAX episodes. And we get to see them a WEEK EARLY! Also, the first half of the "episode" seemed to imply that the CLIMAX will be more like the finale of a harem show than anything else, despite how SERIOUS BUSINESS they tried to make it sound.

Or you could just write a story that progresses and reaches its climax naturally in a way that they audience can decide for themselves, along with their own opinion of the series and how it goes along. But thanks anyway.

Default Episode 21

It's all about power.
The inner conflicts have begun.
Between those and the Beta Yuuya and his crew will have their hands full.
So now they think they could choose how gets to be left behind to die.
Interesting episode. Things are finally moving forward again.

Time for that CLIMAX we've all been waiting for. I gotta hand it to them; when they get down to business, it does get pretty epic. I wouldn't have been surprised if the "climax" really was Yuuya going on dates, though. But wow, wasn't expecting that from Natalie. Serious shit from here on out. Hopefully it's kinda alright, because that's about the best I can hope for at this point. I already miss the old OP, though.

Even though it was a recap episode, the at least it was told pretty well. I at least understand everything just a little bit better. And then there are the new theme songs. That should make for a nice finish to this series with whatever is in store to finish up things.

And now it's time for the climax. It's not one last stand against the BETAs, but terrorist plot by the RLF, demanding that their ideals of justice do not reach out to them, or something of the like. With this plot, the terrorists disguise themselves as delivery men, and they infiltrate the base to massacre everything in their path. Yui was about to be one of the sacrificial lambs, but barely escaped. Natalie turns out to be a spy, and she gets shot by one of her own for talking too much.

I certainly wasn't expecting anything like this to happen considering that the BETAs are the reason why the TSFs were engineered, and that the Cold War is still going on. But it's a good thing that the focus is now on the guys at the Yukon Base. Apparently, not all is well and good there as there is some hidden secret that will change everything, and these terrorists know all about it since they have suffered from it. The climax should really be something.

Default Episode 22

So they decided to use their mecha's to set things right.
Don't think that was a very good choice.
Well, at least they kept it outside of the city.
Looks like BETA's took a vacation...

I can't really complain about the direction of this climax, at least in comparison to most of the series preceding it, but not much stands out to me either. I guess these last few episodes will probably just seem like one long episode, or maybe a movie, to me. Surely I'll have many more thoughts after it's all over and done with.
