The last I checked, we aren't anime characters. Or in any sort of work of fiction.
Well our avatars are

But seriously, what's wrong with realistic dialogue?

Because it doesn't come across that way. It comes across as a teenager thinking it would be cool and make the show more grown-up by adding "adult" words to it, like people who put f-bombs in DBZ fansubs.

Talking Re: Currently Watching (Summer 2012 Edition)

Angel Beats 2-5- Pretty good so far.

SGT Frog episodes 30-34- Still hilarious lol.

Deadman Wonderland episode 7- AN Intriguing awesome series.

Bubblegum crisis 2040-episode 1- An excellent sci fi!

Trigun-episodes 22-25-After not watching for a while it is still as entertaining as the first time watching it.

Clannad-After Story-episodes 11-25- Seriously I have never cried so much in a series before and not just little tears, tears streaming down your face. This is now one of my top fav. series ever! I was a little confused at the end though Nagisa comes back to life and so does Ushio-she was a person from another world and so was tomoya- who was a robot in that world. Then Tomoya goes back in time to a separate world where neither Nagisa or Ushio died which made the ending so much better. A heartfelt series with lots of laughs and lots of touching moments. Clannad gets a 10 out of 10 :3

I will never tire of seeing this become the favorite anime of more people. Nor of the series itself. I'm watching After Story for the third time, this time on the US Blu-ray, and I'm loving it at least as much as I ever have.

Default Re: Currently Watching (Summer 2012 Edition)

Currently watching (episodes watched up to in brackets):
Outstanding
None

Very Good
Seikon no Qwaser 1st season (9)
My fanservice fix for now.

Good
Tiger & Bunny (finished)
This is a show that took me over half a year to finish. It was never outstanding but it was always watchable to make me continue watching....slowly. Still, the last few episodes were decent.

Average
Medaka Box (finished)
The only thing that this show seemed memorable was the way the camera keeps focusing on our heroine's boobs. The character designs for the other characters were so-so and the story was just standard issue.

Upotte (finished)
Unusual show but it was not enough to hook me on despite the occasional yuri moments.

Below Average
None

Default Re: My Summer 2012 Viewing Plan

So after watching almost everything that is on my to-watch list, here are some some first impressions of the shows, as well as how likely I am going to continue them. At this point, I will not make a final decision on my summer slate.

Watching
  • Accel World - This series is continuing from the spring, and I just love this show. The characters are great, while the story about a virtual reality fighting game and a high-tech world is great stuff.
  • Eureka 7 AO - Another show that is continuing from the spring, this show is pretty good at the start. It has hit some rough spots with the last few episodes, but I am expecting things to become quite good once it gets serious again.
  • Horzion in the Middle of Nowhere II - The long-awaited second season starts out with a bang, as the fights were a visual treat in this show. If you can get through the first nine episodes that is loaded with confusing info-dump, then you are in for a nice show. I also like the girls in this show, which is another thing that's going for it.
  • Sword Art Online - Based on the first episodes alone, this show is the best of the season so far. It starts out like .hack, but quickly distinguishes itself by becoming serious business right off the bat. Having enjoyed Accel World and .hack, this show is definitely for me.

Likely To Continue Watching
  • Kokoro Connect - I like the body-swapping stuff, and the animation is definitely nice. It feels like a KyoAni production (reason being that the character designer is the same as Sora no Woto, whose characters look like those from K-On!, another KyoAni production), and it definitely is looking like a winner.
  • Dog Days' - If there is any show that needs a second season, this would be it. The characters are the real draw in this show and the concept of wars being a sporting event (rather than an act of hostility) just sounds fun. The characters are cute, and the first episode brings great promise now that more Earthlings have entered Flonyard.
  • Natsuyuki Rendezvous - This show provides my quarterly josei fix as the first episode sets a really good tone for this show about how a one-sided obstacle is preventing romance from blooming.

Could Go Either Way
  • Campione! - Although the first episode moved way too fast and got right into the thick of things without firmly establishing a foundation, it was a very nice first episode, and Erica is definitely someone I like as a character. This show has a lot of promise, but whether or not it delivers will be what I will be watching for.
  • Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse - The first two episodes are a prologue to the real story that develops Yui as a character. So far, it looks like a great story is developing, but the real test begins with the next episode. Hard to say at this point.
  • Ambition of Oda Nobuna - Compared to other gender-bending history shows, I am liking this one better. It helps that the characters look better than the other such incarnations. It looks like this show could develop into something special.
  • Jinrui wa Suitaishimashita - This show is just weird all-around. In a pastel world, there is the nameless heroine going around trying to be a go-between for the humans and fairies. Along the way, headless chickens and bread loafs that bleed carrot juice just make this show think what in the world I just watched. All that stuff, however, is well done in the first two episodes.

Likely Putting On Hold
  • La Storia de Arcana Famiglia - The first episode was decent while the second was dumb fun. At least the boys look great, and the female lead is voiced by Mamiko Noto. But all in all, I find the show way too generic and something without much to distinguish itself.
  • Tari Tari - It starts off well with a new club forming as a method of protest. It is fun, but at the same time my slate is already loaded and this will probably get lost in the crowd.

Still Need To Watch
  • Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero - I am still waiting for Funimation to put up the streams.
  • Binbougami ga! - Like Aesthetica, not yet available for streaming on Funimation.
  • Uta Koi - I will get to this show, but right now is not a high priority.

It's time to graduate from here. But there's still some business left.
The only thing better than anime is sports. Get hit hard and you got JACKED UP! Or else it's a C'mon Man!

Default Something - Summer 2012 #2 prelim

Quick update to this since I've seen ep 1 and some ep 2s of almost everything I'll definitely be watching. Next update will probably be the full format in a week or two.

Definite or Highly Likely Imports
 01) Yuru Yuri♪♪ (2)
 02) Kokoro Connect (2)
 03) Dog Days' (2)
 04) Rinne no Lagrange S2 (2)

Potential Imports or Import Worthy (worthy, doesn't mean I can necessarily do them all...)
 05) Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita (2)
 06) Sword Art Online (2)
 07) Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon S2 (1)

Will Continue, Medium Expectations
 08) Natsuyuki Rendezvous (2)
 09) Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate (1)
 10) Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru! (1)
 11) Moyashimon Returns (1)

Will Continue, Low Expectations
 12) Tari Tari (2)
 13) Oda Nobuna no Yabou (1)
 14) Hakuouki: Reimeiroku (1)
 15) Chouyaku Hyakunin Isshu Uta Koi (2)
 16) Dakara Boku wa H ga Dekinai (1)

Borderline
 17) Arcana Famiglia (2)
 18) Chitose Get You! (2)

Dropped
 Campione (1)
 Muv-Luv Total Eclipse (2)

There's one straggler I still have to watch, but I don't think it's subbed yet so I'll ignore it for now:
 Ebiten: Kouritsu Ebisugawa Koukou Tenmon-bu

Only two outright drops so far, but more will join them. Probably upwards of half a dozen more until I can get to a doable number, considering ongoing shows. Overall though, this season blows my mind. Soooooooooo good.
