After the creator got them all online and locked out, he warned the government about what was about to happen, and the results from unhooking NerveGear. He also said they had two hours to move the victims, if they wished, to a hospital or somesuch. Basically, everyone is hooked up to IV drips now.

-Oh. This is .hack all over again. WIll it actually feel like a real MMO this time? Will people act like MMO players? or will this be another illogical crazy fest.
-Klein has bet put on Ignore List. -No magic in an RPG? How peculiar. -Hmm. All the beta test talk is making this feel more like real gamers playing a real game. -There is no Logout. Huh. That's a new level of bad programming. -Okay Lord British, show up and explain wtf is wrong. -WHY IS THE SKY BLEEDING!? -When a programmer tells you that a bug is a "feature" it's time to start panicking. -Aaaaand everyone in the stadium just wet themselves. Thanks alot Mumm-ra. -AHAHAHAHA! Cute girls have now reverted back to old dudes. Okay anime, you got me. -Klein just hit on Kirito... -The Ending hints at way too many real girls for a real MMO. That was a thousand times better than the first episode of .hack. This crazy premise has promise. If only it had some fat guys in the cast, it'd be really real.

Well at this point I can be sure that this is far beyond any other new series this season. In fact, it's already my favorite anime currently airing. I hope it continues to improve at this rate, because if it does, it could end up on my top 50 anime by the end of it. And with it going into the fall season, that's just another great series to have airing at the same time as some of my most highly anticipated new series in years.
Was that Kalafina I heard in the background? I guess with Yuki Kajiura, that shouldn't surprise me at this point. And that was some really spectacular animation, A-1.

It took a month, but the first floor is finally cleared. Too bad Diabel ended up dying due to intel that was different from the beta version. And then Asuna appears as a hooded player and apparently there is something about her being able to attack at that speed. Kirito knows about attack patterns and uses that knowledge to help the group of players move on to the next floor. It turns out that not all beaters are created equal as Kirito performed the best out of the beta testers while most of them were pretty inept according to Kirito. Now, Kirito has his black swordsman outfit and is ready to finally move on.
This episode was great to see how the players are finally figuring things out after a month. And then there is that first encounter between Kirito and Asuna. It will be interesting to see how fast the story progresses and what challenges lie ahead as now, they are on floor 2 after beating a tough boss. And of course, not many players bothered to read the guidebook. That must really say something.

The attack at the end with Asuna and Kirito was awesome. I didn't a lot of interest in this show but the action is turning out to be quite well done. It's going to take a lot of effort to keep it going at this level.

Episode 2:
- Yay time for the cute girl. Harukas! - He's not going to be surprisd when she takes off her hood, right? He can tell she's a girl, right? Because if he's surprised, eyes are gonna roll. - Whelp. It's a little hard to buy into the "dramatic emotional death scene" for some dude we met 5 minutes earlier. - Okay, he's surprised, but it just looks like he's surprised she's so hot. - Holy shit that last stretch against the Kobold boss was fucking awesome. Both Kirito and Asuna were amazing. - Sudden anti-beta tester lynch mob is annoying though. Talk about a sudden change in attitude, sheesh. - Oh. That's what "beater" is about. Beta + cheater. >______> god that's lame. - And Kirito is playing the villain so they'll all stay united even if it means leaving him out. Silly Kirito. - "Oh, it was there all along." Fucking love Asuna. <3 <3 Gah that episode felt like it was 10 minutes long. But it was just that good.

Tomatsu Haruka is Asuna! Yay!
We don't get to know Asuna very well here, but we do know she's a pretty capable ass-kicker and I love her already. She and Kirito were both pretty awesome in that boss fight. Definitely one of the best fights I've seen in a while. Can't wait for more of her.
