Default Sasami-san@Ganbaranai: new anime adaptation by Shaft

http://www.tbs.co.jp/anime/sasami/
http://mantan-web.jp/2012/08/10/2012...00026000c.html

"The story follows a hikikomori named Sasami who is unmotivated about even changing clothes or eating. Her brother takes care of her, even though she despises his slave-like nature. Sasami spends her days viewing the outside world via a "Brother Surveillance Tool" on her computer. In the outside world, the three beautiful Yagami sisters and Sasami's brother are in the middle of relationships worthy of a romantic comedy."

Well this should be odd! And right up Shaft's alley.

Also, oooh that Hidari art. Wonder how it'll look in motion.

Hidari's art is wonderful, though to me it hasn't been adapted into anime form nicely any time before (Fractale, Natsuiro Kiseki). Hoping this will be different in that regard. Seems like it might be an interesting title.

Yeah that's not the best track record. Hidari's style is one that's impossible to really capture in animation but Fractale really bungled it and NatsuKise looked okay but I wouldn't have been able to tell you it was based on Hidari if I didn't know.

Yeah, I looooove Hidari's Atelier Ayesha art... but didn't even realize Natsuiro Kiseki was using his(?) designs until ~2 weeks ago when Superdry mentioned it. Seeing it mentioned n connection with a new Shaft show makes me happy though.

Tanaka Yuuichi pretty much adapted them like his Index style so they didn't look much like Hidari's. Bigger problem for me is that they went off-model so much that I didn't even get to enjoy that style.

Huh, didn't give me Index vibes at all, but then I try to avoid thinking about that franchise in general so maybe I've mentally blocked it.

I only lasted 3 or 4 episodes so I might have missed the worst of it, or have forgotten already.

I must have bad memory since I don't remember where I mentioned it.

It was about that Natsuiro Kiseki picture frame you got. It was either in the "What did you import this month?" thread or on Twitter.

Oh, lol...I double-checked my twitter and made no mention of Hidari. Since non-anime promo art for the show doesn't really float around too much, you probably made the connection when you saw the stock image that came with the natsukise picture frame.

This has potential.
