Fucking finally.

Index 2 largely killed my interest in the overall franchise, but I've still been looking forward to a second season of this, so I'm happy to see this announcement. I just hope Touma gets as little screentime here as he did in Railgun 1, because I have far less tolerance for him now.

Not sure how I feel about this. First season was, mostly, amazing, and I imported it. But over time I've grown more and more allergic to the mere thought of the To Aru franchise (not Railgun's fault specifically though), which means there's a very real chance I might just steer clear of this completely, just to be safe.

Bleh. I dunno. I'd like to be excited about this, but I probably won't even bother with it.

Geez... I would have thought this would be announced a long time ago. I still need to get to watching the second cour, but I really loved what I did see. I also hope the same staff is on this one. Nagai Tatsuyuki doesn't seem to be busy with anything, so maybe that's a good sign he will be available to work on this.

In this week's Dengeki Daioh, there was an advertisement giving the first key visual and the main staff/cast for the second season.

Misaka Mikoto: Satou Rina

The text reads (spoiler from the manga about the contents of the season) Mikoto hunts down the "darkness" of Academy City! The main story will be the "Sisters" arc!

In other words, everyone is returning for the second season. I'm incredibly excited for Nagai's return. He's done some wonderful work and I can't wait to see how he handles the next part of the Railgun manga. This should be good.

More stuff in the Index universe is always a great thing. Since Index received two seasons worth of stuff that it's nice that we will be getting more Railgun as well considering how much source material they have remaining from the manga.

Great news. Railgun is vastly superior to Index in my opinion, probably because it went to the trouble of building up and maintaining a good supporting cast. Both seasons of Index kept throwing up new characters in random stories then discarded them a few episodes later never to be seen again. Touma is also a very boring protagonist with his fist of doom(TM) (seriously, people, cut his arm off and he's defenceless!) while Mikoto is much more interesting. I'm really looking forward to this.

His power is the easiest protagonist power ever to deal with: just use a goddamned gun. Or a sword. Send a NORMAL PERSON to deal with him in a conventional way and he can't do a goddamned thing about it.

Thank fuck the Sisters Arc is finally getting animated, this arc was already the best part of Index (anime) and this version is superior.

That already happened in Episode 9 of the first season, his entire right arm from his shoulder was sliced off, They reattached it later remember lol, and that's nothing compared to what happens later on lol.
