I'm not sure if this is just for the San Francisco location or not.

It was revealed recently that Muse Communication (Taiwan) won't be able to release the first two movies on domestic Blu-ray. The move is rather interesting since Taiwan was one of the first countries outside of Japan to release the TV series on Blu-ray. They are also one of the countries that is (heavily) promoting the theatrical launch.

And thinking a bit further for the North American market. I think it's very possible that Aniplex of America will be offering a direct import from Aniplex Japan for the first two movies (instead of doing domestic release). I guess it's just speculation until more details come out (maybe as soon as the Japan release gets solicited).

Unless they put an English dub on the Japanese version, I doubt they'd go that route. I think it's more likely that they'd just do sort of what companies have Funimation do, and make it so if you use Japanese audio, it automatically displays english subtitles.

I don't think it's ever really a given that AoA will dub something. If they didn't see much benefit from dubbing the series (which is a possibility: all of the LE's are still around), they may not do it for the movies.

1st 2 movies are comp movies... they could remix the existing dub assuming there are no new lines... they could always do new animation but the vocals may not change.

So wait, is this special clip before the first film exclusive to the US screenings? I know a trailer for the third film appeared after the ending credits of the second film in Japan. Was there a clip shown before the first film over there as well?
